You are right, I have not been to either Europe or Japan and I was not referring to their markets. I was referring to vehicles in the North American market. And I meant CUV’s are North America’s wagons. BMW, MB and Audi all make at least one legitimate wagon for the US market. They also capitalize on the CUV craze and

Because the Japanese and American brands pump out boring fwd appliances. Oh... and CUVs are a cash cows.

At 0.48 seconds - it smokes the tires... this thing is a monster. I love it!

Maybe its the events you are attending. I’ll assume your interests lie more with Classic Muscle, because what 58 yr old doesn’t like a big ol’ V8. Your kids grew up going to the same cars shows as you.

151 lb-ft of torque is why. And the useless back seat. And this is sexy.

Um, what? Audi has 35% higher sales in the US, and 50% higher in Canada. Couple that with the average transaction price of the Honda... uhh I mean Acura versus Audi and you see they are clearly being obliterated.

Yeah, but still wrong wheel drive.

My bad... but it is literally a station wagon. it’s based off of the very dated Volvo platform, underpinning the V70 (and several other Ford and Volvo models). So it is a poor knock off of a station wagon - or if you prefer ‘a portly, less utilitarian mini van, but without the convenience of sliding doors.’

I can’t say I know a ton about them. My suggestion was more about my disdain for Toyota migrating from cool cars (AE86, Celica, Supra, 2000GT) to their current narcolepsy inducing appliances.

How about the Corolla AE86.

Considering the modern Explorer is a station wagon with zero off road pretense any longer. There were few paved roads when the Model T was being made.

From what I recall there was a problem with the cylinder liners of some early (02-03) engines. After that they were pretty reliable. I was unaware of any connecting rod issues. The bigger problem was GM having no fucks to give about the vehicle surrounding the engine. They had colossally shitty interiors,

You people are asking the wrong questions! Who/what is Skrillex? Sounds like a brand of BBQ’s to me.

Doesn’t surprise me in the least. But I bet the bike was fun!

I was there a few weeks ago. At the posted 35MPH, it’s already quite fun and you still need to slow down for many corners, especially to not cross the center line.

I drove the Golf 1.8T, Focus and the Mazda 3 2L. I drove the Golf first. It ruined it for the other two. I’ve had it for 60,000 miles and no regrets.

Gah, I still can’t get used to the bizarre headlamp assemblies. Looks too.... unfinished.

The Explorer is an AWD minivan made to look like an SUV. So of course it appeals to the masses.

Not with those stupid gull wing doors and useless sloped back rear hatch... I use an SUV to tow my 4000lb boat 200 miles to a remote lake where there are no charging stations. While I love the idea of a full EVs for the city, they can only appeal to a percentage of the population.

I should also add, I’m buying a sports car for fun. The TT is competent and would likely make even me look good on a track day. But I want engagement. I want to power slide and throttle steer. I like looking out the side window to see where I’m going. I admit, I’m a 41 year old man child.
