Oh, America... hold our (Canadian) beer. The Canuckistan peso is worth 30% less than the USD, our GDP per capita is 65% that of the US (2023) with wages that reflect that difference. So everything is 30% more expensive, while making 30% less, with higher taxes. Oh, and as bad as the rust belt is in the US, Canada is

Musk has made plenty of anti-Semitic remarks.... an oven now make sense.

I agree in theory, except there are significant hard costs associated with every Tesla. Tesla is a manufacturer pitched to and perceived by investors as a tech company. It was first to market and a disrupter, but the legacy car manufacturers are quickly closing the gap and perfectly capable of competitive products

In the case of Toyota, when you sell millions of cars, and keep them pretty much the same for a decade or more at a time, it makes it pretty easy to iron out any bugs.

A body on frame SUV is distinctly different to unibody construction. They are better suited for towing and off road use. The Explorer is AWD, and while decent is no 4wd. It also has no low range or locking diffs. Is it so wrong to want to capability of a truck with enclosed storage and/ or third row seating instead of

You would think with Ford dumping nearly the entire car portion of their lineup, they could find room for both this AND the explorer. The most iconic 4x4s in NA are the Wrangler and the 4Runner. Ford made a competitor for one, why not the other? Seems like low hanging fruit and a pretty low risk.

Umm, fixed roof? Lower price? Quiet interior? Better fuel economy? Seats 7? ...so yeah, zero advantage.

While I certainly don’t disagree with safety equipment increasing vehicle weights, it likely plays a smaller role than you think. The overall dimensions have increased thanks to CAFE, as it is predicated on vehicle size. But also hybrids, PHEV and EV’s are all going to be heavier due to their batteries as well. A

Who doesn’t have a spare mil under the mattress, or between the couch cushions? In fact they are so affordable, people are paying $300k to $858k* over asking!

... light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle?

I’m not sure what to be more jealous of... the cars or the garage.

And that is different than batteries how?

In all fairness it is likely David’s best/safest vehicle.

Sort of my point. FWD is for econoboxes. A compromise to maximize space in a compact footprint at the expense of handling. Once packaging is no longer a design restraint, they reverted back to RWD. To VW’s defense, they do FWD better than nearly everyone which is why I have a Golf but I’d ditch it in a second for a 5

Given a clean sheet with no packaging constraints - a manufacturer that has made FWD cars almost exclusively for decades switching to RWD proves it’s the superior layout.

If I’m high...California... 420... lol.

*Focus maintenance includes the cost of a new Powershit transmission just out of warranty.

The issues (my perspective - outside looking in) are far more ingrained than politics, although the current political situation is the result. The wealth divide gets larger with each generation and is perpetuated by the cost of quality education (underfunded poor districts, or expensive post secondary education) keepin

As a Canadian with government provided healthcare, we absolutely pay for it. It is paid with both federal and provincial taxes, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
