They are literally called Achievements on Xbox and Trophies on Playstation. There is no possible way you can frame them as a negative that gamers are discouraged from getting. The truth is exactly the opposite, gamers are encouraged to get them all, Playstation awards the highest possible trophy FOR getting them all.

You seem hung up on people “choosing” to do things and that somehow being a marker for judging them as people, but you don’t seem to recognize that half the point of playing a video game is to have the freedom to safely explore things you wouldn’t do in real life, by doing them virtually.

you get locked out of the trophy for not looking up the character’s skirt so you’re basically punishing players for not being creeps. There is no nuance to be had here. 

The fact that you are able to have this reaction is proof of how profoundly fucked up our system is. A murderer getting a murder conviction should be the norm, not something to mark on your calendar as “it happened once”.

Sure, I get that, but I see so many people below saying they’re never gonna play it because it’s stuck on Apple Arcade and the sentiment sure reads less as a “I’m not gonna remember it in a year or two” and more “I assume it will never leave Apple Arcade so I will never play it.”

On the flip side, you have to wonder if the game would exist at all if they hadn’t secured an exclusivity deal. Mistwalker hasn’t exactly had a stellar track record, and their last two mobile games were both shuttered within a year of launch.

This is a fairly high profile game by Apple Arcade standards, so I’m fairly confident it will be ported sooner or later. Thankfully, it’s a straight up JRPG without any mobile freemium mechanics as far as I’m aware. So porting shouldn’t be a huge hurdle like say, Terra Battle.

I keep seeing this but basically every Apple Arcade exclusive I’ve been interested in has been ported to PC or consoles so I’m not sure why people don’t expect the same from this.

Hopefully it breaks out of there at some point. A couple titles have managed it. It’s not lifetime exclusive.
