I was a big fan of the 2D version, Adventure Quest Worlds, when I was in middle school. I recall that both Paul and Storm and Voltaire (the musician) had similar musical appearances in the game, with performances and related quests.

I’m also concerned that this is what the shows will look like, because Howard just looks like a worse version of Joe Quinones’ interpretation in his and Zdarsky’s run.

I agree, although ironically the book seemed a lot less flashy and a lot more slow and contemplative than the show, which you’d think might translate to being more boring for some people. 

They may never connect to the films, but I don’t see any good reason for them to ever officially separate.

In the game, you can kill people in the usual ways, like shooting them or garroting them, but there are also special setpieces in each level that kill them in unique ways. The player in the comic is disappointed that they missed out on the cool special setpiece death.

I couldn’t agree more. I had a dream that a live-action reboot was in production, and it felt like a dark portent of things to come.
