EGR either was on/is currently on her writing staff or is closely affiliated with someone who is. It seems (pretty obviously) to be a winking joke.

Methinks EGR either was/is on her writing staff or knows someone who is :-).
There are so many odd an overwrought ways in which women are denied authorship.
Ah thank you Anna. Still doesn’t explain the ludicrousness of the original sentence though. Do you know how often prisoners that are eligible for parole are supposed to be considered? Also if being “disciplined” isn’t the same as being charged with additional crimes in there I’m unsure why that should KO a parole…
I wondered about her case and the sentence, so I looked it up.
Texas accuses her in their response to Lamda’s lawsuit of having an “assaultive history.” The Lamda lawsuit says she has been disciplined for leaving her cell (to try to get away from one of her alleged attackers). In the Times’ story, Star said she’d been disciplined “three or four times” in 13 years for trying to…
yeah man she really should not have been in jail AT ALL imo
I would like an explanation of this as well. It’s like the boyfriend actually was the one who stole the damn car and kidnapped the employee, and she is getting the harsher sentence.
Seconding this. And as I said in another comment: something seems odd here with that sentence. Twenty years for driving off with a car salesman? That’s shitty, but I mean, twenty years? There has to be something else happening here.
Star accepted a plea bargain, copping to aggravated kidnapping in exchange for a 20-year sentence. She is scheduled for release in 2022. (According to the Times, her ex-boyfriend was released on parole in 2013. Star became eligible for parole in 2012.)
Well I would imagine so, but so did Dave Chappelle (and every other good show). And it being her show, I’m sure she has a good deal of control over what goes out. Plus she’s also writing along with them, as well as producing and directing a few episodes. Truly this is her baby; the writers deserve credit but her name…
I don’t watch Letterman because I think he’s creepy... But it felt like a mix between Letterman and Conan. Which is sad because Conan is my favorite, but he’s always making those dumb sounds (“awoooga” type stuff) and references to being stuck in his marriage. ugh cringe-inducing
The ladies who do these interviews shine their legs up with oil. I think this spoofs it. at 3:46, her leg LITERALLY sparkles and it made laugh until my stomach hurt.
i also was thinking stroke until they fully turned gold
Am I having a stroke, or are her legs getting shinier and turning gold throughout the skit? Help?
Christ this woman has been killing it lately with these bits. I love watching her rise: it just keeps getting better.
“Baz Luhrmann’s musical remake of Blade Runner”
I would argue the Raptors are a likely audit target - large market, if you define their market as the one they target, the country as a whole - as well as being owned by MLSE, which is itself owned by Rogers and Bell, which also own the two largest sports media network groups in the country, not to mention related…
Ten team owners, for example, also own the arena their team plays in...But the CBA has little to say about these issues.
Today we bring you an update to yesterday’s story about a Good Samaritan motorist who caught a speeding Dodge…
