I’ve seen how “distance learning” works out for students with IEP’s. An underqualified SPED teacher who never lays their eyes on the child “supervises” the IEP and makes recommendations. I have received IEP’s from K-12 incorporated and they are garbage.

If there’s anything that demonstrates why things aren’t best left to the states, it’s education. Look at the wide disparity in educational attainment by state. It’s horrible. And so much of inequality is driven by education or lack thereof.

Sorry, I was certainly being sarcastic. As the adage goes, it takes an act of Congress to get districts and state BoEs to pay for anything - especially special education. And knowing this Congress, that probably won’t continue much longer.
