No, I don’t think so. Parker and Stone want to have it both ways. Biting satire and also complete irreverence. But their nihilistic libertarian views shrine through pretty frequently. They’re whole thing is “we’re too cool to care”. It can be funny, but it can be pretty troubling too.

Their NAMBLA episode basically involved them saying “shut up NAMBLA, you have sex with little boys, fuck what you think,” and one can only hope that the rise of white nationalism in America is enough to warrant a similar response.

Their only sin, really, is caring about anything. It’s like, chill out, dude. Nothing matters, can’t you see?

A) The Ed Sheeran cameo in Game of Thrones was not a big deal. The idea of people “getting furiously angry about a singing boy barely appearing in our favorite dragon show” is ridiculous. (Kudos to John Oliver’s writing staff for that delightful summation of the Ed Sheeran outrage.) The Ed Sheeran cameo was just one

Much like in Looper, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will look like a weird alien.

My favourite background joke of the episode is how all the signs in the 3-second 1999 flashback say things like “relevant billboard”, “flashback joke” and “The 1999 and Keychains Store”. Even when the background jokes are intentionally lazy, you can tell there’s so much effort put into that laziness.

He’ll cameo as his alien character from 3rd Rock.

Simon Pegg had a cameo in VII, as did Daniel Craig, and neither were obstructive to the story. I figure this is the same kinda thing, like Nathan Fillion in a James Gunn joint (Ooh I just remembered my reference!)

Todd says it best: “Yeah, I’m not sure we need that DNA test”

Really, Diane ought to be voiced by a real Bostonian.

Colorblind voice over casting is a complicated subject. I know there’s a backlash against Hank Azaria voicing Apu, but Apu is a stereotypical character with a thick Indian accent. Diane and Todd are born and raised in the US, and Alison Brie and Aaron Paul just use their regular speaking voice. Of course, a big part

This episode was absolutely dizzying - to the point of delirium, following all of Todd’s exploits, but what a payoff. As someone who himself routinely questions his scale on the asexuality spectrum, this was a much-needed dose of empathy and humor.

What follows is my thoughts on the season as a whole which are connected to this episode. There are no spoilers.

Lowest of low bars, but this has gotta be the most thoughtful TV exploration of asexuality I’ve had the privilege to watch. I’m beyond curious whose idea this subplot was, I kinda feel like I need to thank ‘em.

Laughing so much this episode, I love Todd. Aaron Paul does a wonderful job. Also Sharon Horgan! Love her, can’t wait for s4 of Catastrophe.

Hollyhock was my new favorite two minutes in.

Todd’s last name may be Chavez, but I don’t think he’s really intended to be a POC. He’s about as Hispanic as Rick Sanchez.

I said this in response to someone on the first review, but Todd being there makes me happy for the Ace community (which that’s such a cool name, I just get Pan. But I also get Deadpool on the representation front, so fair trade). I watch a lot of television, and to my knowledge this is one of the first times a

Mild spoiler: The Courtney Portnoy tongue twister stuff continues throughout most of the season and Amy Sedaris kills it every single time. It’s easily one of the comedic highlights of this season for me.

Holy cats, a Nabin/Naven name drop! Congrats Nabin/Naven, wherever you are...
