LOL. So you think that somehow employers have limitless funds and can just keep all workers employed while a huge reduction in income happens? 50% of those employed outside of gov’t work for small business. Get real.

Pretty much - and they are doing pretty well.
Most dealers put themselves in the stupid position of selling a product and maximizing how to get the most $ out of that single product sale instead of considering that they are providing a service to the customer.
If the Explorer was not green with a bug deflector did it even exist at all?
I was going to say this and thought someone must have already posted the suggestion. We bought my wife a used 2016 earlier this year with 40k on the clock for $26k. SH-AWD and all the tech/safety options other than DVD/tv screens in the cabin. It’s really nice.
Making people burn one of the best holiday weekends for a wedding is even worse!
At least they switched Peterson at the last minute without prior warning. It’s much worse if you have to sit with the knowledge that you will be switched at some point in the future.
This may have been the hardest I have laughed at a Deadspin comment. I almost got bored and bailed halfway through the comment and I’m glad I stuck around. Kudos to you.
I did...what part of my comment indicates that I did not?
I have one (none-ocean race edition, same year) and at $2900 I guarantee this has $4k-$8k (indy-price) in deferred maintenance. At around these miles these cars should be listed at $5k with all maintenance completed or $2500 with a time-bomb waiting for you.
I have an ‘06 XC90 V8 so I can speak on this. If this was $4k with a list of maintenance you’d be fine, but at $2900 I bet this guy just got an expensive repair bill and is finally throwing in the towel after trying to get by without spending much on it.
I have an ‘06 XC90 V8 with black leather interior and it looks virtually perfect still. I bought it from the original owner and he took care of it well and so do I.
Hang on, 2.2 million per week across 258 stations? How the hell do they monetize that? That’s 8500 listeners per station per week. That’s nothing.
Elderly, infants, and animals (imagine being a dog in this heat...). Hopefully the warning is allowing some people to prepare....even if it’s just lying in a cold bath for most of the day.
A major part of most sales people’s compensation is commission.
Jesus Christ, this advice is so obvious...……..and I never thought of doing this! We’re considering shopping a larger house for growing family, which freaks me out a little. I’ll start making those new mortgage payments this month!
The idea of cash flow over balance sheet in your early 20's is a great concept that I wish I had thought of in my early 20's. You’re absolutely right as there are so many new bills and unexpected things when you get your first real job, paying all your own bills, etc.
I think you’re reading too much into this. No one “cared” what he drove, but it was a symbol that he wasn’t in the same mindset. He’s a new sales guy out of college with $30k base salary and no proven sales ability and arrives in new $45k BMW. Company vibe is low-key, respect is earned type of mentality and the BMW…
I’ll be straight with you, no one really cares what kind of car you drive. Your performance on the job will send the message regarding your professionalism.
The only viable solution I see are interchangeable batteries. You pull into a “battery station”, get a coffee, and somehow swap out your incredibly heavy spent batteries for fresh ones.
