@Lord_Cathbad: If you're in IT, start studying for some certs or something like that. There's plenty of tests, certifications, etc, that you could earn and free time at work is a great time/place to start.
My DS with an R4 still does this, and a lot better.
@927emptyU: I dont know much about linux apps, but I'm pretty sure they have working VNC clients. You could switch to VNC at home and use that.

@Owosso: ideally you never see it do anything at all. It just auto updates from a list of IP's and prevents those IPs from making connections to your PC.

@Krobar: I use a program called 'unlocker' to get around stupid crap like this. It gets rid of those 'in use by another program' messages basically by killing whatever has it open.

To perform more of a 'hard reset' you can also do a backup of your settings/firmware, and then a restore.
I think i prefer treefilesize, i like the graphical representation, it's easier to look at in a pinch.
