Mine is from a discussion I had with the brother of one of my University friends. We were chatting about general nonsense, when an unholy aroma filled the air. It smelt like a zombie had been stuffed full of cabbage, and it was horrendous. I asked:
What if Half Life 3 IS Portal 3 at the same time?
This happened to me a lot in that game. To be fair, it might be because I'm about as stealthy as a rhino wearing a jetpack. In game, and in real life.
I agree the original was a bit daft, but adding underwater missions would add a great layer of new gameplay to Enemy Unknown. Half the tech wouldn't work, you'd have to readjust your squad loadouts, and given the aliens propensity for gene modding, you could add new bad guys without the Elder Gods being involved.
Oh ace, I haven't seen that interview, I'll check it out. Thanks!
Cool, I like me some Xcom. Little bit sad that there's no gauss weapons, underwater TERROR or regional voices though. That last one is the most jarring, oddly enough.
That's fair enough :D
Not me I'm afraid. I haven't touched it after playing it through once, and I'm not sure nostalgia will make me get the DLC. Have Elizabeth and Booker sneak onto the Von Braun pre-infestation, then I'll be impressed. Fuck, that WOULD be a lot of nostalgia!
Set this on the Von Braun just prior to Shodan taking over, and we'll talk.
I love the internet.
Agreed, and Homeworld 2's odd reliance on the rock-paper-scissors-starship mechanics. I remember starting a level with an impressive fleet that had trounced pirates previously, only to lose it all within seconds because it wasn't the correct 'counter' for what I was fighting.
Not at all. I thought you got a much larger speed discrepancy between objects until the point where they were all lethal. This is why I am here eating my lunch and not currently in space :)
Fair enough, I am now educated :D
I have a very crude understanding of physics (LOL LASERS ARE COOL) but wouldn't that debris be moving at something like 20000 mph? As in, the smallest pieces would puree them?
Cataclysm is excellent, a real shame that they couldn't give it the same treatment. I actually preferred it to Homeworld 2, shock horror.
I made a generic middle-class person in their late twenties then armed them with an assault rifle and elemental magic. I found the juxtaposition amusing. It's just a shame the game itself is flawed.
Excellent, although it's a shame about the missed opportunity for some cross-class nonsense. That's one thing The Secret World got right.
I'm getting a vague sense of Fallout 2 from this, and that's A Good Thing. I'm going to go with a tech character, as you can recruit NPC's of the other classes as backup anyway, right?
I'd say yes, but the main game with the DLC basically means you won't venture outside for days and days. Just remember that. But yeah, it's good, even if your character is a Fallout-style mute.
