For anyone who might be interested, my superhero novels ‘Alicia’ and the sequel ‘Honey’ are free on Kindle today, in honour of Wonder Woman being released!

The Old Republic, and the story of Revan. Featuring a spinoff with HK-47.

Nice article, thank you for this :) I’d love to say I could relate a similar tale, but my daughter (who is 5) said she liked the villains in most stories, including Star Wars. When pressed, she looked me dead in the eye and said:

In a seamless bit of self promotion, my superhero novel ‘Alicia’ is free today :)

Intriguing. Who is on directing duty for this?

I am working on the sequel to this (over 80K words so far!):

The instant Eobard turned up in the past, he was in a seperate universe to the one he started in. Eddie killing himself would not have affected him, but it would have stopped the Eobard in that universe from being born. Frankly I thought Eddie had shot Reverse Flash whilst he was standing still. It’s what Thomas Wayne

That doesn’t mean you can’t have a superhero story that is more intricate and deconstructs tropes, it’s just unfortunately not what people seem to want.

This is actually amazing. I really hope through some multiverse shenanigans, this intersects with the movies somehow. Oh and totally setting things up for BOOOOOSTER GOLLLDDDDDD!

Oh for sure, I was referring to how badly the digital parts have aged. I say that now and in 30 years with our photorealistic holodecks we’ll be laughing at Episode 7.

You’re welcome, angry internet man. You should be more annoyed at the people who work in VFX and consider shoddy CGI superior to something practical, or as you say, something ‘done right.’ My comment was more based on the prequels and the now very aged digital content therein.

Yes it does. The show does, however, need more Booster Gold.

Possibly, but weren’t they talking about using miniatures as much as CGI for that? I’m all for something that actually has mass providing the scenery.

Hah, fair enough, but I’m fairly sure lightsabers don’t glow on their own ;)

Nice. Made all the better by having a non-CGI background!

Wouldn’t this be fantastic if it was a Red Dwarf ‘Queeg’ scenario, and both machines were in fact, the same machine? I would laugh. Especially if Norman Lovett appeared.

I appreciate your honesty, thank you. I’ll keep trying! Look forward to reading more of your work.

Hi Victoria, thank you for joining us today! I thoroughly enjoyed Vicious, and I was wondering if you had any particular advice about getting superhero fiction noticed? I self published my own superhero novel, after finding it was a very difficult sell to prospective agents. Thank you for any reply in advance!

Thank you :) I did a single postdoc, but it simply stopped after a year. Moved to technician roles after, and its far more fun :)

Interesting. For me, it was be a technician. Sure, not as much money, but a fun blend of science and teaching, and far less stress.
