/pops up from behind her laptop screen: LAFAYETTE!

Thank you SO MUCH for providing this link. The whole article’s been added to my archive of facts. It aligns with my feelings these days:

Randi is a personal hero of mine. I got to meet him at Dragon*Con back in the late 90's and I was more starstruck than the day I met Kevin Sorbo.

Ooh, the earpiece. Oh, hey, that reminds me. That piece of dirt Peter Popoff is back on the air again. Somebody start airing the old rerun of James Randi destroying him on Johnny Carson.

I was talking with someone Saturday and my thoughts on the subject were: “I think I’m gonna wait until it comes out on DVD, borrow it from the library, and skip everything that isn’t Harley.”

First off, I have to say that as I’m looking at these photos of Lochte, my brain has helpfully cued up “Say No To This” from Hamilton.

Mine, too. When we unpacked the first shipment of Holiday books at the bookstore where I worked last Christmas, I squealed and ran around receiving holding that book aloft, I was so excited that it was still in print.

First time wearing character heels onstage, this happened. A dancer in the cast slipped me a business card for a local cobbler (they still exist!) who attached a product called “catspaw” to the sole and heel. (not the sticker kind you can buy in Walmart, this is glued and then nailed on.) It comes in different colors

MY thoughts exactly. The last show I saw at the New Orleans Saenger pre-Katrina was Sebastian Bach’s tour of JCS- say what you will about Bach, he _really_ gave it his all- and Carl Anderson was reprising his role as Judas. He made _everybody_ step up their game. (And those floor-length swing coats the Sanhedrin

And how Deep South is she? ‘Cause there’s that line at/near the Gulf Coast where she’ll be so far south that it turns into The Carribbean and _that’s_ even _more_ fun!

Shrimp and grits for life! And mascarpone cheese in the grits... now I’m hungry.

Why not? I’m totally buying this man as Thomas Jefferson:

They play it in the South, too. /singing: “800-588...” aaaaaaaahhhhhhh

Just bought it on Kindle the other week. It’s slow going- not due to readability, but due to the sheer amount of times I go, “holy crap,” and go off on the net looking for kitten and puppy videos to clear that crap out of my mind...

Oh, god. I had an acquaintance do this during his losing battle with cancer. I was absolutely gobsmacked when I heard about it. I thought, “Jesus, he must be out of his mind.” And, of course, he was- with the pain.

Oh, yes. At the Chain Bookstore where I work, a co-worker and I were trying to explain the meme to a customer, and it ended up with me singing the song and co-worker performing The Dance... it was just so joyfully bananas and cheese-tastic at the same time.
