So you’re saying you were slain?

How have I never made this connection!? This is exactly what I’ll be picturing from now on.

Dear Kalliope Jones,

...No, of course not, you silly billy.

Facts don’t matter to these idiots. They take whatever they have on hand, twist it into an illusion of victory, and claim success. The fact that she completely and utterly failed to get anything she said she wanted is irrelevant; her supporters have been galvanized by the lie.

Bingo. The real job creators are the middle class with disposable income, and the way to get to that point is to provide across-the-board means for lower income workers to move up.

There’s a delightful sense of symmetry to her shouting “Get it right the first time!” and then proceeding to completely fail at the most basic of tasks. I mean yeah, she should have been slide tackled by a whole soccer team or something, but this lesser punishment was poetic.

Or if someone had said, “This is America. Open the door right the first time!”

Yeah, exactly! It’s simple and it makes perfect sense.

I hate the size, and what I mostly hate is the italics. I use italics a lot, and this is horrible. See? It’s all scrunchy and stupid looking. Horrible font, and I can only see at most five comments at a time on a monitor with 1920x1080 resolution. It probably shouldn’t bother me as much as it does, but I hate it.

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. All five books of the trilogy. Yes, I’m aware that typical trilogies contain three books, but this is a series that defies conventional logic.

*sigh* I hate that my first thought was that someone’s inevitably going to abuse this. I have two cousins for whom I’ve dropped everything to help them move in an afternoon (one of them a couple of times), only to later find out it was just some gambit in an argument. Obviously what these guys are doing is great, and

I think you make a great point here. Intelligent, thoughtful people can miss cues just as easily as someone who’s not really paying attention or doesn’t care. I think everyone needs to realize that all of us have insecurities and psychological hangups, and none of us are mind readers. One should just say what one

You know he’s just three kids in a trenchcoat, right? How am I the only one that sees this?

Inverse Pinkham’s Law?

Your parents sound a lot like mine. What you said about them having to struggle to be empathetic and needing to personally relate to an issue to truly see it is spot on. I’m pretty sure the only reason they had ever been accepting of gay people is because one of my uncles is gay, and my mom only ever saw the value of

There’s also been a sharp increase in nuclear attacks, car accidents, and computer viruses. Makes you think.

Wow, that’s infuriating. I’m sorry you had to go through that. I don’t understand why this is difficult for anyone to understand; it’s not like lactation is a new development.

That’s good to hear. I really am happy that some big, historic changes are being made, and I’m hoping everyone keeps pushing for more progress.

Nope, nothing. Not gauranteed by law, anyway. A few companies here and there make some provisions, but generally only for higher-ups and executives.
