yeah, exactly. i managed to lose around 120 pounds just by transferring my obsessiveness to video games. losing weight was the hardest thing i had to do, out of kicking drugs, drinking, and smoking.

I respectfully disagree with this whole post. I quit smoking, drinking, drugs and 'over eating' around 2 years ago. I did it almost exclusively by transferring my attention from aforementioned vices to almost purely video games. I shed about 9 stone by focusing more on becoming a better Street Fighter player than

this is entirely correct.

I consulted on this project! It's awesome to see it's been finally released. I had to sign an NDA agreement and everything, was hard keeping my mouth shut about it for so long. The guy who developed it was really passionate about getting everything right, so it's definitely going to be awesome.

both responses are really interesting, i genuinely had no idea this was the case.

interesting, i genuinely had no idea.

a lot of what he's saying is ringing some 'good' bells in my head, but i don't know if i have the will power to get hyped all over again for another call of duty. for now, i'm still sticking my eggs in this brand new battlefield 3 basket. also, i did cringe slightly at the shoe-horned '60 fps fluent combat..' line. ..but still an amazing game, what you are saying sort of implies a resentment i can only understand if the game is bad. not just a minor annoyance at it adapting it's self.

I get where you are coming from entirely, but remember - a lot of people were saying the same thing about Fallout 3 before it was released..and I don't think I need to remind you how spectacular that turned out to be.

it's not just the game, it's the response and defence of the game.

whilst you are right, and the analogy holds up well (considering 'TV' is generalised to be trashy as well when it isn't - me being a TV 'enthusiast' myself can give you a 100 counter recommendations to jersey shore) TV can still ride the art and visual media train. whilst people can say TV has gone to hell, they will

duke nukem forever is exceptional at outlining exactly why so many outsiders still hate video games and the culture surrounding them.

This just in: Kotaku commenter misses point.

FIRSTLY! how do you know they are shoehorning it? it could weave it's self beautifully into the narrative. it could seamlessly tie in to a storytelling masterpiece. SECONDLY. homosexuality is hardly an 'edgy' theme, i mean do you honestly believe that? the fact that homosexuality could still be considered an 'edgy

oooh a kotaku raiders fan, consider yourself friend'ed
