The most important question is here: what happens when you are prompted to drop the n-bomb? D:
@dmc666: They all innovate. You think cover and shoot systems existed like they did before Gears of War? I can think of one game, and it's nowhere near the level of sophistication thats done in Gears, that has later been ripped off by well just about everyone, including Playstations biggest franchise.
We are still developing critical language for video games, so I expect a few more of these types of essays out in the years to come.
Those strings at the end sounded awesome
@lutz: Very.
@TeamBlacula: I don't mind Russell Brand, but it has to be in small doses. I found him funny and kind of endearing in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but his charm was lost on me in Get him to the Greek. His stand up does nothing for me either.
@Bugoongu: Sure, even Hendrix was appreciated in the UK before he was in the US.
@Azel: That clip was quality. Yeah, I love Reg as well. His 'Fuck Batman' routine always has me in stitches.
@Wheat_Thins: It's probably a hard job finding someone invested in gaming who is also charismatic enough to host an awards show. Charlie Brooker would be my pick, but as someone else has already pointed out you don't really need to have extensive knowledge of video games to host an award show about them. Would help…
@Three Stacks: their*
Was it Bill Hicks that started the trend of American comedians travelling over to UK to gain more success with thier cynical brand of comedy? Or were there people before him? It's quite a fascinating trend. Another great US comedian operating in the UK at the moment is Reginald D. Hunter.
@MOB712: I absolutely understand all criticisms and general reservations about it. My initial reaction was anger, of course. How could it not be? But since I've had time to soak it in I'm really looking forward to it. I'm just viewing it as a new IP using DmC mythos. It makes more sense that way. It's not going to be…
@Seiryuu: Pardon? I think you are the only troll here buddy. I've loved DMC for the longest time, and I am very much looking forward to this reboot. Are you telling me just because I'm a fan of the series now (even 2 wasn't THAT bad) I can't be looking forward to the reboot and I'm just some kind of troll? lol.…
@Seiryuu: I KNOW about you guys. You guys have been all over the net screaming to the high heavens about this remake. I'm asking about the people who were fans of the original series (more than just casual) and are still looking forward to this reboot.
@SpongeFreak52: Hahaha should not be laughing considering the subject but well played.
I'm a long time Devil May Cry fan (probably my third favourite gaming series to Metal Gear Solid and Tekken) and I am hyped as fuck for this reboot. I can't be the only one. I mean I know there will be people who haven't played DMC before who will be looking forward to it, but what about long time fans?
Just wonder why Kotaku never add their own commentary to these outlandish statements they post? Surely there is more to it than 'post statement, let comments section rage.'
@Jin Zhou: If you are looking for it, you will see it. He looks about as much like the vampire from Twilight as any other skinny teenage boy with short hair would do. I could post a millllion comparison pics.
@Ignited_Impulse: But Dante doesn't look like anything resembling or to do with Twilight. He looks like a heroin addict. I don't see any heroin addicts in Twilight.
