Interesting write up. I actually write for an SBNation site and generally admire and am impressed with our site managers, do have a stipend, and always thought of it as a labor of love. I’m probably under paid but that’s not really why I’m doing it. But certainly understand the sticking points made.

I used to write for an SB baseball team blog from about 2011-2013. I didn’t expect anything because I volunteered and mostly did the weekend updates with the occasional article thrown in. I liked the site manager which is why I helped out. Now that I know he got jack shit for all the work he did pisses me off.
