Now playing

I immediately fell in love with this trailer for Kong: Skull Island from a couple of years ago. Just the way they matched the sound effects with the music was so sharp and catchy. It’s got the opening action, then a dramatic reveal moment, then some funny dialogue, then comes right back to the synced up action and

Fun fact! Back in Legends, the Death Star Gunner was a character named Tenn Graneet. I read all about him in the rather dull 2007 novel Death Star. He was the guy who actually pulled the trigger to fire the laser after all of the more overt start-up sequences. He became racked with guilt over the superweapon and his

I’m quite enjoying this game so far. I’m one of the people who got it for free on PS4. I run, I bounce, I jump and sometimes I even win! Very rewarding, very fun, highly recommended while it’s still super popular.

I could only make it through the first half of this show. It just wasn’t for me. Everybody talked so slowly. Everybody moved so slowly. The action scenes were anemic. The whole war didn’t make much sense. How is it still a war if Megatron commands an entire planet and then when Optimus Prime says to “get everybody”

I was pleased to see that The Ghost did show up in Rise of Skywalker.

I’ve been a little skeptical about this movie in the past, but that new trailer really won me over!

Gotham Central is damn good comics, and I’d love to have a proper TV show built around that idea. Tying into the movie would just be icing on the cake. And obviously now is not a great time for another cop show...but respect where respect is due, Brubaker and Rucka made a great comic book.

What’s this? I randomly pop into io9 on this random Friday and find a big Hork-Bajir picture front and center? This is gonna be a good day.

I really lucked out with my drill instructor. He was a great leader/mentor figure for that week. A real tough but fair sorta guy that taught us some neat marching maneuvers and was really just rather inspiring for 15-year-old me. In hindsight, I can recognize that he was probably only in his 20s or something like

I went to New York’s Boys State circa the late 90s and it was definitely nothing like this. It was mostly just putting us through marching and other military drills. There was the government-building stuff, but I don’t think anybody really took it seriously. It was just part of the program. I tried to pass the Bar

Agreed 100%! This was definitely the right way to do it. And I, too, hope for a season 3. There’s been some hint that it’s moving to HBO Max, and surely that will mean a new season for the new streaming service.

Love this show! Loved this season! Loved this finale! Harley Quinn is easily the best DC animated show in years. They take the time to do it right, crafting real character and story growth. I was disappointed that they didn’t rush right into Harley and Ivy at the start of the series, until I read that showrunner

I was wondering where that Resistance Transport came from. I actually rather like that LEGO is turning to Galaxy’s Edge to find more set ideas. It’s some solid syngery.

I have fantasized about a full immersive VR X-Wing game for years. Imagine sitting in a VR cockpit on mic with a whole squadron of your friends/other players. The lot of you flying as a squadron, acting as a team, to fly some famous Star Wars missions. Would be glorious!

Turns out this game is a remastered “expansion” of the first game and not a true and proper sequel. That’s disappointing, but at least now I don’t have to buy a Playstation 5 at launch.

L’gasp! We can have nice things!

If I may, just because I like the character, Marvel’s White Rabbit is actually kind of fun! And she’s been getting more attention lately. She’s one of those joke minor villains that bother Spider-Man from time to time. But basically, she was a pampered rich kid with nary a care in the world who was married off by her

This is indeed madness. Jackpot only existed so that Marvel could tease the idea that Mary Jane was getting a costumed identity. It was in the immediate aftermath of Brand New Day, and Marvel teased that an attractive redhead with the name “Jackpot” was showing up — as in “Face it tiger...”. But then Jackpot turned

I was hoping there at the end that we’d get some kind of Cat-She-Ra, like either Catra would take up the mantle in the final moment or Adora would somehow share it to let them both survive the big boom at the end. Oh well. Loved the season and loved the show!

She’s great in the second season of Dead to Me! Just like the first. I’m loving this show, but it’s so stressful to watch.
