He just has to get them speaking in the evil voice though and it's all over.

I think it's obvious that they want to keep Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine for as long as they can. That's a big reason why I don't get any of your arguments about how you can't understand why it's "so damned important".

Not really. Again, you wrote "some may argue that continuity isn't all that important, that just raises the question of why it was so damned important to link the two series in the first place."

I don't think you get my stance at all. I disagree with you and the reason why you are making these arguments, not the filmmakers.

You wrote "And while some may argue that continuity isn't all that important, that just raises the question of why it was so damned important to link the two series in the first place."

Sebastian Shaw is an easy villain to write, especially for a movie. His powers means he can get beaten up by the protagonists (which lets them show off their moves) and become even stronger. All they had to do was update his wardrobe and that's an easy She's All That kind of fix.

People actually like Stryfe and want to see more of him?

I don't think a one line joke from Hugh Jackman during a get-the-team-together montage really counts a needless continuity connection.

There are moments when the animation is really cool but a lot of it is just one cel that they pan and shake around.

And he says it twice!

I actually just played it last weekend after finding all my old n64 games. I think it still holds up fairly well - a static screenshot looks pretty lame but the gameplay is so fast and a relatively consistent framerate that it looks much better in motion.

I started off liking the new 52 Swamp Thing and Animal Man but ended up dropping them after 12 issues or so. It wasn't that I really started disliking them but the storylines just seemed to be dragging.

Let's not get too histrionic here. News agencies are reporting that 1,000-1,200 infected for Liberia, so people following it "in the slightest" are certainly not wrong to think that that number is very very low. See this Time report from this morning. Why should we not believe this? http://time.com/3158244/liberi…

That's the main reason why I think you are wrong. There's nothing in this article that implies "sex = bad and women's bodies = wrong" and I think you are projecting some different issues by seeing it as this.

Well, I sure got annoyed at your reasoning but my MO is usually to just say something snarky instead of going on a rant.

For someone saying Rob's post seems like an old grandpa yelling at teenagers, you sure do use a lot of CAPS.

It's just not an either/or for me. I'm all for them doing these types of stories but it's still comics. Steve "died", Bucky took over. Steve came back. Now he's been de-super-serumified and Falcon is taking over. Like it or not, but in the comics Steve Rogers will be Cap again in ~2 years. I don't see the movies being

I don't look back on Edward Norton/Mark Ruffalo Banner discontinuity and think "Ah, that's annoying."

Brand New Jones was my jam like 10 years ago.

Seriously. I never, ever understand these people who claim to never have understood his appeal. Yes, he gets the short shrift in Return of the Jedi so he totally fits the premise of this thread as an actual ass instead of bad ass. But in Empire, all you know about him is his cool helmet, a weird upright spaceship, and
