Hello!
helloagainmylover

I eat a lot of salads, but obviously it’s a pretty sad salad if you prep everything ahead, so I always make a big batch of “salad stuff” including dressing (this past week it was chicken thighs, apple, red pepper, cucumber w/ a dressing made from dill, garlic, lemon juice, honey, and a little bit of mayo). I

God, I know - as if this was our football team losing. Jesus.

I have sensed outrage fatigue coming on for myself, and my strategy to fight it off has been to read books and writings by socially-conscious women and minorities (right now I’m reading Men We Reaped by Jesmyn Ward, and last I read Men Explain Things To Me) and it’s got me at a constant low simmer. The anger is

No, they’re just lazy you colossal dickbag.

Amen. I am making it my personal mission to get the people in my life engaged. I live in Louisiana and I drove hungover assholes around all day to vote for Foster Campbell a couple weeks after the election, and at least two said they only voted so they didn’t have to look me in the eye. Damn straight.

I’m sadder tonight than I was on election night, I think. Tonight it’s real.

Sorry you are deep in your depression. Take care of yourself as best you can. You’re worth it. This isn’t over. I have been devastated as well. I’m literally in the process of trying to find a new job because I know most of my workplace voted for Trump and I can’t be near them anymore (I mean, it’s not the only reason

Dude, this motherfucker needs to be investigated for treason - like, he’s clearly been colluding with the Russians right??

I mean, the point of this is that Russia (allegedly) had unsavory information and were blackmailing Trump. It’s relevant, even if stupid.

I know. Trump, we’re just asking questions! Some people are saying these things! We’re not saying them - just some people!

Given the choice between Trump and Pence, and just Pence (and some other “typical” Republicans), I’ll choose the latter. Trump not only is crazy and might be compromising our national security with goddamn Twitter, but he is the hero and figurehead of a disastrous movement. They’re not going to follow Pence like they

That’s what I’m saying, about Comey! Like, he has thwarted investigations, lied to create scandal around Hillary days before the election, and he has been an active participant in obscuring information. W. T. F.

You’re right - impeaching Trump does not solve too many problems, but Pence is better than Trump + Pence.

I sobbed the whole way through it :(.

Thank you for your perspective. I (and a lot of people here) are absolutely bursting with rage and I hope the action ends up mattering. I think people need to remember that we are the underdogs right now and we’re going to fail most of the time, but we still have to keep doing it.

Seriously. It’s a goddamn atrocity we barely know anything about Trump and now the problem is just growing exponentially. I really, really hope this will just be “that one time a bunch of rich people tried to buy America but the good guys won it back” in the history books.

Yep. I am in Louisiana (albeit in liberal New Orleans). We are a minority, but like, one in three went for Clinton despite how hated she is here and despite the party completely ignoring us. Imagine what turnout efforts might mean. Maybe never a majority, but maybe a few more blue house members, etc.

Good.

Don’t give up, and don’t speak the rhetoric of giving up, because then in 2, 4, 8 years, you will be back saying “and the Democrats just rolled over!” And also we need to remember that Hillary won the popular vote by A LOT. Those assholes in office know that. Whether it sways them, I don’t know, but they absolutely

Thank you for pointing this out. Republican strongholds all have significant numbers of liberals living there, even though they don’t make up the majority. They need to be mobilized as much as or more than anyone else. As one of these liberals, it’s really fucking infuriating when our party acts like we don’t exist.
