Husband and I were killing time on a Friday the 13th in a Starbucks waiting for it to be time to go bowling and talking about the future. He asked what would happen if he needed to move to LA after school (film industry) and I said I’d move with. I hate LA. Hate hate hate it.

We’ve gone from extract (started with a Mr. Beer kit, and then upgraded our equipment) to brew-in-a-bag. Mostly 2.5 gallon batches - that’s enough to have a party and share with friends, but not so much that you’re still drinking it six months later.

Ours is stainless, but same idea. Love love love love love my wort chiller.

I did that (at about 18mos) with a piece of ham. Pretty much the same result - swelled up.

Have a bottle in my beer fridge right now. Looking forward to trying it. Was not a huge fan of the Prickly Pear.

I had this at GABF a couple years ago. Very refreshing. Or I might have had too many beers to know it was awful ;)

It’s not the Cinematic Universe, but Agents of Shield does have Agent Weaver, who’s part of the leadership council of pointier shield (and taught Fitz-Simmons at the Academy).

Sadly unavailable commercially, because it was brewed for a do your recipe on our gear contest from a local brewery, but the guy behind the bar at our local tap house made a Chamomile Double IPA named Penny Lane in honor of the dog he lost to parvo.

Roller Derby for sure. I took it up at 35.

I did the same in 2006. The internet livestream was awesome for keeping the wedding tiny. Sorry, no room in the chapel, but you can totally watch it online as it happens or later if you want to.

I prefer Brainless on Raspberries to Peaches personally, but both are excellent.

I have been avoiding that beer because the bacon one was so awful (IMO - more liquid smoke than bacon), but I do like a good shandy, so I may have to give in and try it based on your description.

I'm Meg. Denver living, C# windows app writing, roller derbying, home brewing, bicycle riding, costuming, comic reading, geek, wife, and mom of two adorable girls. I started out over on Jez, and have slowly been making my way through the rest of the Gawker multiverse.

Lanolin is the reason that I listed wool as an allergy both times I had my children so that no one would try to stick lansinoh on me :) (I am sure it's awesome for other people, but it's a straight trip to itchy red rash hell for me.)

Not new per se, but I would include Rucka’s Lazarus as a science fiction comic you should be reading. (And I still have all the love for Ody-C and Bitch Planet, too.)

I have a diamond cocktail ring from the 50s that was my grandmother’s. Had to replace one of the side stones, but otherwise it’s as beautiful as the day she got it. My next oldest possession is a watch I got in the early 90s. Have replaced bands and batteries, but it remains as beloved and functional as ever.

I totally want one of those. I am going to have to add it to my wishlist, because I am not patient enough to make it myself.

Great Divide's Yeti (I will totally cheat here and drink all the variations, but it's all still Yeti)

It exceeds your ABV cap at 8.5%, but of the people I know who love Left Hand's Milk Stout, there is also much love for Odell's Lugene chocolate milk stout.

I am going to have to hunt that down. I just had their blood orange gose (I know, I know - fruit and salt) and it was phenomenal.
