Rush is probably his best bit of work outside the MCU. Underrated film.

It may be an AV Club “C.” But I take that to mean it’s a Pandemic Sheltering “B.” And quite frankly, it’s about time Bangladesh got some attention!
I’d rather watch a hundred generic DTV action flicks than even one more goddamned minute of Tiger King, so count me in for this one.
This is not the first time Kim has been comfortable with taking the law into her own hands and twisting it to her will; the first hints of this line of thinking emerged toward the end of S4 - her arbitrary conviction that she is strongly positioned to judge just which ‘good causes’ are justifiably advanced by shady…
Another episode for the Rhea Seehorn Emmy reel.
She was great, not just for the gripping scene at the end but all of it. The way she looks when she finds the cup with the bullet hole you know she’s mad that he lied. Then when he freaks out with the juicer you can tell she’s thinking that maybe he didn’t lie so much as he just can’t talk about it yet. Then she gets…
I’m not sure which part was more heartbreaking, Kim worrying about Saul and the relief she felt after he called her, Kim seeing the coffee cup with the bullet hole, or Kim almost breaking down and giving Saul that look after Lalo left.
This is a great assessment. When I was 12, I was happy to overlook TNG’s flaws in writing, acting (Stewart and Spiner excepted), pacing, set design, wardrobe choices, etc., because it was literally the only thing on TV for nerds apart from PBS re-running Tom Baker-era Dr. Who. Then X-Files and Buffy made genre stuff…
The reason this show works and the Sequel Trilogy doesn’t is simple:
The director and cast seem to understand that this was basically a meta-exercise in MAXIMUM BAYHEM, which seemed to elude the reviewer.
I was already into this show, but rewatching it by binging over the winter made me really love it. I had no clue how much I was missing by watching it week to week with the long breaks between seasons.
There are points that are definitely worth it.
A list of times when I, a 38 year old man, long ago disabused of the abilities required to show emotion, cried (read: I never cry or show emotion. It’s a mental health disorder) while watching Deadwood, The Movie
I love Tim Blake Nelson’s half-ass strumming on the harp as he ascends to the clouds. I wish that whole first section was up for best short film. Also the part with Tom Waits.
Ok but when do I get to hear Reba cover “Surly Joe”
“The pressure to keep movies short doesn’t come from audiences nearly as much as it does from studios.”
If this really is the last time I’ll see Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. as Cap and Iron Man, I am down for a longer goodbye. These actors embody some of my favorite characters and it’ll be weird to see them move on. Also when the Rouso’s worst film is Civil War which is a damn good film in its own right, I say let…
Strongly disagree with that barely-there apathetic B+ grade. This was a fantastic episode, probably the best of the series so far. They finally figured out their characters, figured out how to get them to show petsonality and interact with one another; personalities developed, the plot isn’t needlessly dense, the new…
I think the problem isn’t that he always plays The Rock (although I thought he was serviceable in the scenes where he needed to be dramatic in Moana, he really sold that character IMO) but that almost no one he has ever worked with knows how to properly utilize him, Tom Cruise is always Tom Cruise in movies, John…
