My one complaint with salads that other people make is that they rarely chop or tear the leaves small enough; big leaves look pretty on a plate but stupid when you can’t get them in your mouth without slapping yourself in the face.)

Sadly this doesn’t help the USPS one iota, but if your Canadian readers are feeling wistful that Canada Post doesn’t have custom stamps — actually, yes they do.

Yeah, I was wondering about step #1....

I’m dow with the scrolling part though!

But but but, the ideal use for extra milk (and leftover rice) is rice pudding! Therefore you never have “too much” milk.

I had no idea grilled spam was so delicious until a Japanese friend brought some “spam musubi” (spam sushi - Hawaii’s national snack!) to a potluck.

Holistic Wisdom makes something called the Sneaky Sack - it’s a bit like the Hanging Pouch above, but IMO much better (and it holds quite a lot).

Unfortunately most people still don’t seem to understand what 6 feet / 2 metres looks like. That - along with so many people’s inability to be mindful of this for more than a few minutes - is my biggest single concern.

Self-cleaning ovens are a lifesaver! Don’t most stoves come with them these days?

TBH that sounds way more delicious.

MobileRead - a lively community forum of e-reader users - offers close to 32,000 e-books in multiple formats, all of which are free, out of copyright (in the country of the uploader), and readily downloadable. It’s a great resource that more people should know about.

Leaving aside all the other badness about #2's fantasy... right now, Canada will not let you enter the country at all. Period. And even if coronavirus vanished tomorrow, Canadian Immigration will not let you in on the basis you’ve just described. And if you enter on a bog-standard six-month tourist visa, you will be

I agree. This reminds me very much of an argument my late father once made, that murderers should be executed or imprisoned according to the number of years their victim would have had left. If someone kills a baby, that’s equivalent to a full life, therefore execute them immediately or imprison them for life; if

Similar to the packing cube idea - I keep my nightclothes (an assortment of PJs / night T-shirt / bed socks) in a lightweight wicker basket in the bedroom. On those nights my husband retires earlier than I do, the basket gets moved into our living room so that I can change my clothes at leisure, without blundering

I haven’t tried it with black tea, but I’ve heard it does work. Try it and see!

Great advice! Lately, since I’ve been self-isolating thanks to a cough, I’ve been on the receiving end of a friend’s kindness. She has been wonderfully thoughtful, always giving me a day’s notice or more before she places her order so that I have enough time to plan out what I’m likely to need over the next few days.

Rambalac is delightful! He’s one of my fave YouTube amblers-about-Japan.

Congratulations to you both! I hope you can find a way to make the evening special.

Roast some green tea leaves in a frying pan, as the Japanese do. The tea is a natural deodorizer, with a minimal (clean, faintly vegetal) smell of its own.

This is also good because it lets other people know they’re allowed to do the same. I don’t want my friends hanging onto a conversation a minute longer than they want to, either!
