More and more with each episode, this show behaves as if the writers have no idea what to do with the amount of episodes they were given. The result is still good, Gilead is still one of the most horrifying distopyas ever, all technical sides are great - but it does feel wheel-spinning.

This season has just been filled with high stakes that go nowhere.

All I have to say is: God bless Amazon for saving The Expanse.

Easily the best show on TV and the most frustrating to get friends who don’t normally watch sci-fi to actually give a chance to (see also, Battlestar Galactica).

Holy fucking shit! I’ve been wondering for years now about how that was going to look and it was about ten times cooler and twenty times trippier than even I expected. I could’ve happily watched a full hour of just naked starchild Holden floating around screaming at protoculture visions.

Well, I guess you guys at the AV Club got what you wanted all long. Pop the champagne!

“She has gone.”

This show. I was completely down with a second season where a hot lesbian couple fight about ethics while hunting down “The 12” until things got all stabby-shooty.

I hope S2 includes Irina being re-kidnapped by Villanelle. I hope they have sassy Hound & Arya style adventures together.

Darkly funny is one thing, but darkly laugh out loud funny is a higher level that is really hard to do. This show did it, especially last night.

Villanelle gem of the episode ‘I think about you, too. I mean, I masturbate about you a lot’’.

The car scene of Eve and Konstantin just laughing after everything they’re saying was easily one of my favorite scenes of the season loll

This episode just highlights how much more interesting Maeve’s storyline is compared to Dolores’ these days. And it’s not just Maeve herself, mind you, she’s going to interesting places, she’s got more compelling supporting characters, her motivations make more sense, etc.

It’s good writing when they make you care about two characters you just met.

Amos: “You’re not that guy.”

Maeve in Shogunworld. AKA the best DLC you can ask for. Thanks based not-Rockstar.

This is the first episode of Westworld that is legitimately great.

And now he has a posse. Seriously, Lisa Joy’s direction in this was stellar.

The second I saw someone rolling up to William’s posse I know who it was and what they were going to say. Ironic considering it’s Mother’s Day.

That little speech about Craddock not recognizing death when he sat across from him at the table was Eastwood worthy.

Surprised no mention of William at the cantina......that was Sergio Leone level Western myth making, the brief silent montage in the middle, the rain, the excruciating tension, the explosive ending and then that wonderful aerial shot of riders on horses at full gallop across the plains.
