Please do not put words in my mouth - I never "hurled insults at Obama for having the audacity to be black".

That's a matter of opinion, not fact.

Not taking into account my dislike of Hillary Clinton, both on a personal level and a political one, I truly believe Trump's policy proposals will help make this country stronger, safer, and more prosperous. From stricter immigration laws, to better trade deals, to lowering the corporate tax rate, to

I'm not going to continue this with you - I'm happy today for the direction of our country is headed and made the decision, of my own sound mind, to vote for Donald Trump as I felt he would be the best candidate of the two options to lead us forward.

That's really unfortunate to hear. I may not have agreed with Obama on practically anything he campaigned on but I still hoped the best for him as that is, in turn, hoping for the best for our country.

Whether he has to "buy them" or not, I would wish those qualities would guide our future President regardless of if it is Trump or if it was Hillary Clinton.

All I can say is I would hope you want the best for him, as if he fails like you expect him to, our country will fail and I would like to believe that nobody, regardless of your political beliefs, wants to see that happen.

Well, that's unfortunate for you.

"Depending on how you’re feeling today, it’s either just another Friday or the first day of a four-year hellscape."

That's comparing apples to oranges. Meryl is a private citizen; Trump is President-Elect (see: elect) who kind of has to wait to do much. Even if he wanted to build the wall tomorrow a) he literally couldn't and b) he'd get shit for it - "It's still Obama's time!", "Trump thinks he's President already!", etc.

That's a different way of looking at it. It might be that you're right, and BLM is just not good at communicating that effectively. That's not the message I get from them, even semi-knowing their underlying cause. And honestly, a part of that maybe falls on the media. Maybe they focus on more of the negative stuff of

Jesus… I'm not going to even try with you. You're long gone.

I'll put it in writing on the AVClub website for all to see: I will hold (soon to be)President Trump's feet to the fire just as much as Nancy down the street who despised him. If he does not produce the results I expected when I cast my ballot, or drives this country further into the ground than it already is, I will

Respectfully, how did all those votes going to third party and/or write-ins end up? Did it hinder the side you were reluctant to vote for? Did it help them? Did it matter?

While I would like to believe that we can come together as a country and sing Kumbaya, I'm also aware of the fact that the vitriol of this election cycle (on both sides) will take some time to settle down. I mean, hell, you have Hollywood actors/actresses taking the time out of their award speeches to reflect and

That's a fair point. I guess this would be the part of the discussion where I admit I was reflecting some of Ack-Ack's attitude back unto himself because I can't stand people who resort to "suck my dick" comments. What was that they taught us back in Kindergarten? Treat others how you want to be treated?

Let it be known that while I did not agree with all that he said/did, I did vote for him because I thought (and still do think) he will do good things for this country. Is he rough around the edges? Yeah. Is he a saint? No. Has he done/said some things that I question? Absolutely.

I agree with your beginning statement and appreciate people who read/listen and then state their counter opinion with reasoning behind it. It's not too common in today's world, especially on the internet and especially on this website. So thank you.

That's fitting.

God you are patronizing. Has anyone ever told that to you before, honey?
