Whenever I rent a car I assume there’s a GPS tracker in there. But I also figure the folks at the rental office aren’t going to be sitting around monitoring my driving, and certainly that they won’t be posting my location online.

He capitalized the word Jack so I figured he meant Daniel’s.

Agreed. The US seems to enjoy making love harder by trying to find it’s own solution to issues that have already been solved overseas.

Is a car really finally assembled until the pinstripe is applied and the air in the tires is replaced with nitrogen? Final assembly is always done in the US.

McDonald’s Sausage McMuffin. It’s better without the egg, and half the price. It's good as it comes, excellent with some ketchup or hot sauce.

John Wayne is SNA, most commonly known as Orange County and also Santa Ana. The one time I flew there AA referred to it as all three separately; one during booking, another in my confirmation email, and another during online check in.

Heck even for the current model year the pdf is useful. It's way quicker to work out which trim has the features I'm looking for by going straight to the last couple pages of the pdf rather than spending 10 or so minutes clicking around the manufacturers website.

This crash reminded me of one I read about years ago, probably the late 80s or early 90s. A heavy haul driver saw a train coming but assumed it was a slow moving freight train didn’t want to wait 10+ minutes for it to pass so he went for it. Turned out it was a fast moving Amtrak and he couldn’t make it across in

If you're only in it for the discounts AARP has a similar package and is only $16 a year. On my last couple trips the AARP and AAA rates were actually higher than what you'd get for being a member of the hotel's loyalty program.

Double win if its a meter and the Peugeot owner just paid for a couple hours.

A couple years ago I worked with a guy who had been pretty successful in the car business. Owned his own lot, made a ton of money. One day he was changing the oil in his son’s Vette and the jack collapsed, car landed on his head. After getting out of hospital he was nothing like his previous self, tired all the time,

But the current model means you have to buy the whole roll of duct tape, then when you next need it it's disappeared and you need to buy another. Library model means you use it and pay a few pennies per inch for what you used!

The strangest thing is, it’s more likely an added cost rather than a saving. Only a handful of other countries allow red turn signals, so for an international brand like Mini the majority of units they sell have to have amber. They must feel that Americans prefer red to justify developing and manufacturing a different

There was some truth to this back in the day. I drive an '07 and can tell it struggles a little more if I have the max AC on when I start it. But yeah on a modern car with auto climate control the car automatically deals with this so you don't have to turn climate off manually.

A large percentage of my coworkers (auto sales) are anti vax. Their typical argument is that most covid cases are pretty mild and “just a couple weeks off work”.

Had one as a rental for a month while my car was in the body shop. Backup camera was weird on that one, the screen would show in was perfectly parked in the middle of the bay, but in reality I was about 5 degrees off. No idea if the camera was misaligned from the factory or if it had been dinged by a previous renter.

Disappointed to just be hearing about this now. I checked out of an Airbnb on Sunday, and one of the things we hadn't eaten and had to be thrown out was half a pack of processed cheese. This game could have kept the kids occupied for a few minutes on the drive home.

It wouldn’t waste 8 minutes. It would waste maybe 60 seconds googling how to disable the system. Then it becomes pointless to have it at all.

I think the current policy of drinking as many beers as you like in the terminal followed by no alcohol at all on the plane is the cause of the problem. I’m sure a lot of the troublemakers are folks getting a buzz at the airport bar expecting to be able to have a couple more drinks on the plane, but finding themselves

That's why I put the part about the waiver. Send proof that it's been fixed (either upload the receipt for the new bulb or stop by the police dept so they can check) and the ticket gets cancelled.
