I like games like Resident Evil 4 or Metroid, where after much suffering, you go meet the final boss with the full arsenal you accumulated. Makes you feel so badass.

Destiny is like going to the casino. You play expecting you get lucky and find an exotic drop. Have you been to a casino and watch old ladies spending all day pumping knickels at a slot machine? That's Destiny. Just because the game uses addictive gambling triggers doesn't make it good.

I thought they ran out of ideas, but when I see customers suggesting more fucking zombies, I can see which group actually ran out of ideas.

The Point is how the developers manipulate you into spending more time playing the game. They may have done away with planetary materials, but now you spend the same time farming glimmer. At one point they made the Cryptarch harder to upgrade promising better rewards, but the rewards only were better for a few days.,…

Bungie was exclusively a PC developer. If you had a Mac in the late 90s, Bungie was close to your only choice to find a decent game. They made you a favor not to release this game on PC. PC players won't put up with all the shortcomings this game has.

Kotaku is in love with Destiny because some of the game's main problems don't apply to them (They don't have to hustle for finding people to do the raid with).

Get ready to grind.

Kotaku lost all my respect with this list. Shovel Knight, Alien Isolation and Transistor well a million times more deserving of a place here than this grindy, repetitive, manipulative mess.

To me any "Best of" list that includes Destiny is rewarding mediocrity. But that's just me.

All I wanted was to play Skyrim with a real person as a companion, and not an NPC like Lydia. Until they figure out how to do that, I'm not paying.
