A government by the rich people, for the rich people, with justice and freedom for all, the rich people.

Just give them everything the carcass of Bioware has now.
Well, this is a bummer. They could have expanded their studio for the new projects and have another team dedicated to sequels. Wizards of the Coast should cut a juicy deal with them to make this happen.
Final Fantasy and the Multiverse of Madness.
Mike Tyson’s passed his prime years before Paul was born. At his peak, a true heavyweight boxer had to have a death wish to get in the ring with Tyson. Right now, I am not so sure how this is going to go. Even the unhealthiest guy in his 20s is still in better shape physically than a guy pushing 60.
I think the solution lies in how much freedom you are giving to the player in shaping the story. Even in games like Baldur’s Gate 3, where you have absolute freedom, you can hint at the canon version of a character, and let the player decide. It’s almost obvious, per example, that Astarion is canonically gay and evil,…
On the other hand, I love that I can have Shadowheart as my in-game girlfriend (it makes a betrayal even more despicable and funny later in the game). I think the Persona games got it right as your character being the romantic pursuer if you choose to, that gives you a tighter choice of keeping your companion…
Spinoff: Fallout New Vegas, by Obsidian. OG: Bethesda.
Well, Max Payne 3, from the company now suing the company that developed Max Payne 1 and 2, was a success. Baldur’s Gate 3 wouldn’t be what it is today if it was developed by the carcass of Bioware that did the first two.
It’s one weak point, I think, is the lack of playable online shooters. I thought that Apex Legends was going to encourage developers to port their shooty games there. Destiny and The Finals could be very playable if they wanted to.
This is not a problem. The cream ultimately rises to the top. Most of the junk games will remain unknown for most, and Valve has a return policy if you ever stumble into one of them. Besides, who knows what hidden gems can be found on that pile.
I think we should stop calling the Steam Deck a mini PC. It’s a portable console with PC capabilities, not the other way around. If you want more of a PC experience, there are competitors out there, like the Asus Ally. I have never used the Steam Deck’s PC mode and I’ve owned it for almost 2 years, I only use it as a…
Another year, another Zelda game with disproportionate praise by critics.
It could have been gayer if the BG3 review had more Astarion.
This went under everyone’s radar, but I think it’s worth mentioning
This game has been a gold mine for YouTubers.
No love for the cultist that (why there isn’t a spoiler hider in Kinja) self immolates in Dredge.
2023 sees the end of the reign of terror of the greatest videogame villain of all time. Best year in videogames.
All of them have the potential to suck and disappoint, but I am watching these games in the course of next year:
There were even Kotaku articles from earlier this year reporting that this game didn’t pass the sniff test. I think the drama from people with pitchforks yelling “scam” from all corners is intentionally amplified to create YouTube content.
