I like Hail, Caesar! as a throwaway Coen film like Burn After Reading. I think every once in a while they feel the need to just make a not deep film if that makes sense, and even the lesser ones are pretty good.
Yes.
Is it though? Give me some examples of how well written it is. In the spirit of being fair I did re-watch it with my kids, and it was okay. My girls thought it was funny in parts but nothing special and I agree.
right. I understand you’ve come here for an argument?
I do like Murder by Death more than Clue, but I have an affinity for the send ups they’re based on, to say nothing of Truman Capote
I like “Clue”, but it’s vastly over-rated and only saved by the performances. It’s not a great movie in any sense. “The Lego Movie” and “Barbie” are both better films.
Eh, they’re no friends of mine
You GOT it
Holy cow, I just bought an original edition of “Ripping Yarns” over the fall at a yard sale. I couldn’t believe they were selling it
Does ending a marriage count? Don and Betty Draper calling it quits and breaking the news to the children absolutely kills me every time.
“I can’t believe I used to date you” - the kid definitely believed they were dating
*laughs in Lou Reed and releases Metal Machine Music
Someone has to explain the love for “The Replacements” (the movie, not the incredible band of course)
DAMN but 1974 was a year. And seeing Firefall and the Ramones on the same list is just perfect to me as I love punk and AM Gold.
Man, I loved Rock Box when that came out. I was a suburban white boy and not into rap that wasn’t the Beastie Boys, but that song...that song got me into Run DMC big time.
The real right answer is “Drop Dead Legs”
Don’t forget us Rifftrax fans, who love Roadhouse for the sheer inanity of it (and the many, many callbacks to it in many Rifftrax features)
“Crimewave” is not a bad film, but suffers from having a terrible lead actor. If the “heel” (Bruce Campbell) had been given the lead like originally planned, it’d be a pretty good film.
