The Baldies terrified me as a child. The real gang they were based on, the Fordham Baldies, were really terrifying. I love seeing Alexander’s department store at Fordham Road and the Grand Concourse.

Say what you will about how diet and fitness have evolved over time, but Richard Simmons was the rare gem that actually gave a crap about actually helping folks get healthy and happy. Sweatin to the Oldies and all his videos/ specials were filled with real people who were there to get active in whatever way they could…
He was well past his prime by the late 60s. Anyone who calls “Get Back” a well produced Beatles record might as well call “End of the Century” a well produced Ramones record.
RIP. I still consider Chinatown my all-time favorite movie, and I was always kind of proud of how influential my hometown of Eugene, OR was to his career.
Pretty sure you mean “the daughter of A Talking Cat!?! star Eric Roberts.”
This is the longest, most committed bit I’ve seen from a comedian since Andy Kaufman. Bravo.
I mostly considered him “that loudmouth New York real estate guy,” but when he went all-in on birtherism around 2012 it became pretty clear what a sack of shit he is.
Hot tip; Until they inevitably fix it, watching Tubi through a web browser with an adblocker like uBlock Origin completely removes the ads. I don’t mean you are watching blank space for 30 seconds or whatever; it literally skips the ad as if it didn’t exist.
NYC moviegoers still have Nighthawk.
Zod speaks the inconvenient truth.
I’m sure Hamas is right there onboard with the positive LGBTQ+ vibes, Hoze my man.
Pretty sure dudes have been fighting over Diane Lane since The Fabulous Stains.
basically spend the whole time fighting over Lane.
Dude is clearly insane. He claimed Close Encounters was a hit because he won out his role over Gene Hackman. Sorry, bro, every movie could be improved 10x by simply swapping Dreyfus for Hackman. EVERY TIME.
The shark is a metaphor for wokeness.
Much as I’m sure we’ll all miss Johnny Hardwick, they have a great opportunity to have some meta-fun here by recasting Dale and then occasionally having someone else comment that “something seems a little different about you...” in a vaguely suspicious manner.
We’re gonna need a favorite Mats album and song before we can process your application.
I think this is reading too much into it; a large majority of America (including, I would bet, a slight majority of left-of-center people) would most likely agree with that statement, in the same way they would “cherish” e.g. firefighters or whatever. It certainly could be said by someone as a right-wing statement but…
Walk Hard has definitely ruined most music biopics for me. I have no idea if it’s true to life, but I understand there actually is a scene where they try to make her go to rehab which then inspires her to pen the song. That just makes me think: “Don’t you dare write a song about this Dewey!”
Those things can be bad, too. Actors shilling for questionable or outright evil entities (Scientology for example) are extra dark when they’re “likeable”
