The low tech contrarian move...I like it!

Riiiiiiiiiiight :).

That is a MONEY tip!

Apple slicer/corer. Before owning one, anytime my kids asked for apples, I wanted to throw myself into traffic. Now only prepping pineapples makes me want to throw myself into traffic (except for all the other things that do).

Considering the CTE Ray Lewis is undoubtedly suffering from, I’d compare this to dunking on a middle-schooler...on a hoop lowered to 8-feet.

[Puts hand so far down it crushes the earth’s core].

NOPE. YUP.

Kuddos to you for being a good negotiator. I hate it, so it’s why I buy used from Carmax. I’m sure there’s going to be a bunch of people laughing at me, but fuck it. I’ve had good luck, and even if I can save $100 bucks by haggling, they can keep it. I prefer buying cars like I buy milk: No games, just a price.

It’s a free country (mostly anyway). They can save up for whatever they want. Someone of the wealth you describe above should already have a large enough down payment on hand (hopefully in investments). If not, they’re doing a pretty crap job of managing their money, so I would say they can’t afford that Porsche.

True. I still kind of think that needing to save up for the down payment on a luxury car means a person is buying above their means, but admittedly a Porsche isn’t on my bucket list. High end cars (luxury or performance) have never really interested me, but I can understand saving up in a Porsche is that important to

Like a baby bird emerging from its nest. I promise to live up to this honor :).

I’m curious on this one. I love American muscle cars (aka. Mustangs...Camaros and Challengers are for rednecks: COME AT ME :)).

I agree with you. A dealer treats you, a legit and serious buyer, like trash? Go down the road.

Sorry, man, I just don’t subscribe to this.

This is accurate. You don’t show up in street clothes on a whim looking to test drive a $175k car. If I were the salesman (ug), I would have turned him away as well, though I would like to think a bit more gently (at least initially).

Good point of clarification. I don’t. I know a few, in fact, who are in my rough economic bracket (lower upper-middle class/upper middle class/who even knows anymore). But they own an older Porsche, not a $175k GT3 RS.

Ah, internet haters. Less prevalent on Jalopnik than other Gizmodo sites, but still present in full force.

I’m not digging this story. Granted the dealership should have been professional and courteous (story is totally one sided, so I’m not above believing it’s made up), but this bro sounds like someone who just wanted to drive a Porsche. You don’t “save up” for a Porsche. If you have to save up for a Porsche, you don’t
