Manhattan lovers take note. I recently bought a bottle of vermouth that makes your average Manhattan taste flat and flavorless. Carpano Antica. About $30 a bottle (right around the same price you’d pay for the whiskey), and total worth it. Very bitter, deep, sweet, all in a good way.

I really enjoy a good IPA, but totally agree with your comment about the segment overall. Way too many brewers out there basically saying “Hop the shit out of it. Those bearded rubes out there are to dumb to know it sucks”.
