I agree somewhat, but the court had it’s hand forced when legislatures passed and the president/governors signed laws in conflict with the constitution. Just a few examples: Executive agencies that have rule-making authority with the force of law, outlawing handguns in DC and the right to possess a gun outside your

It’s not a “tradition”. The mechanism for selecting Supreme Court judges is specified in the constitution. It requires the active consent of the Senate, who chose not to give consent.

Yeah, no. See, that would violate the constitution.

I’m a conservative (hear me out), and I’ve been in support of this for a long time. The filibuster is not enshrined in the constitution for good reason. It’s a relic of more gentile times that sadly is no longer good for our democracy. I think we would be better served if the majority party can actually pass

Not personally, but I’m aware of it. If I thought that’s all unions would do, I’d be all for it. Big gap between protecting workers rights and killing entry level jobs by extorting for excessive pay/benefits (See: $15/hour demand for flipping burgers) with the threat of a strike.

I sure hope not. Maybe this person is going to school for an English degree. I’ll start with a simple grammar lesson.

Nicely put. You’re essentially required to pay someone in order to work.

Only if unions quit trying to represent people who don’t belong to the union.

Public unions should be illegal. You already get representation in how public employees are compensated/treated. It’s called voting.

This is not getting the credit it deserves.

A respectful counterpoint: Unions are bargaining for wages that are excessive for their value.

Well, that broadens the voter base.

Hence why you’re probably not welcome in a lot of liberal/lefty/democrat circles: You don’t pass the purity test.

If only the union did bargain on behalf of non union members...oh wait, they don’t have to.

Your question was not stupid, and the outcome you state is exactly right.

Did he get her in her birthday soooooooooot?

I don’t know that most teams are ass. I look at it more that there’s such a big dropoff between teams with an elite quarterback and the ones that are just good that the league isn’t very competitive.

I take it all with a grain of salt. I quit even visiting the fake-ass conservative sites (Breitbart, Drudge, to name a couple) over a year ago because they’re disgustingly dishonest and intellectually vapid. I still spend a lot of time at RedState and others that remained anti-Trump.

I can agree with you on that. I was thinking more of vandals and rock throwers. Set a limo on fire or throw a rock at a cop, and flee the scene.

This is a good post. I come from a somewhat similar background (parents broke ass poor when married, but moved up the rungs with my mom’s education and both parents hard work). I agree that it isn’t fair to the individual born into poverty, but it’s fair and right that kids born to parents that worked hard to give
