My best Pokemoning experience was when I arrived in London for a work trip with an afternoon free. I noticed it was a legendary raid day, so I googled “London Pokemon” and found the Meetup group. Santa Cruz is a tacos-n-pizza town. Not much culinary excitement, but we sure do have scenery. There’s a taco place (Steamer Lane Supply) above one of the surf spots that does a very good fish taco, with slices of watermelon for $1.75.  Outdoor seating only, because why else are you there?

Oooh ooh! I just did this with a variety box from Far West Fungi. The seller told me to just panfry them all, and it worked really well. The lionsmane was delicious, with a rather bitter aftertaste, but from further advice, that bitterness goes away if you pan fry it longer.

I always appreciate the interviews with old people where they talk about eating whatever they want. If you’re over 30, the dietary recommendations probably changed at least once in your life, by 100, you probably don’t trust any of it anymore.

I get terrible hives from touching real Christmas trees, which cramps my holiday spirit a bit (not from pines in nature, so it mush be something they treat them with)
