My only disagreement—and obviously everyone should play the characters they want to play, to an extent—is that sometimes not changing characters is poor teamwork. If the other key rolls (tanks, healers) are already doing their jobs, and it looks like maybe the team needs something other than X DPS character or Y

You mean with crushing disappointment as the presents are never what you actually asked for/wanted but can’t actually complain because they were presents and the person who got them for you is sitting there, looking at you all expectantly?

I would be ahgast at this if I thought it would make a difference, but mobile users have overwhelmingly made it clear with their wallets that shit like this is not only accepted, but welcomed, so much so that we now have stuff like this in our $60 ‘full’ release titles on consoles and with every year seems to becoming

When you buy a Wii U in 2015 expecting it come out that year and instead wait 2 years (and buy another Nintendo system) I wouldn’t call it on time. Don’t get me wrong it was worth the wait but I personally would have skipped the Wii U if I would have known.

“On Time”

If Blizzard doesn’t want people figuring out ways to farm loot boxes then maybe they should make their loot system less shitty so people don’t feel the need to abuse the system.

I agree with Jeff, but I also agree with you. They have a right to “encourage” people to play the game the way they intended it to be played, but this seems entirely motivated by potential lost loot box sales.

I am 100% on the opposite end of this spectrum. Who cares if someone farms for XP in a game where it means next to nothing?

Because you’re still playing the game, and it makes you feel like you aren’t missing out on XP. If people aren’t abusing the system, what’s the negative?

Eh. These games have always and forever existed in TF2's server browser.

It’s not clear if Kotaku really thought through the reporting here. A little icked out at the comment that the reporter didn’t enter voice chat, given that the implication is that the author doesn’t identity with the community whose space it is being reported on. Has low key shades of the reporting on gay hook-up apps

Are we already to this level when people can’t cope with a buff? Or was he so overpowered that even the suckest of players were able to murder highly skilled players in no time and with little effort?

Jason, could you comment at all on why this is fundamentally different from other open world games? You climb towers to reveal the map, you come across enemies and enemy encampments that you need to come up with an approach for, you find special areas, etc.

...it wouldn’t be the first time.

I wanna be bad today.

Why would sales suffer as a result of this? And even if they did, why would it have any impact on Nintendo’s decision to produce future Zelda games considering that it would still be one of their most profitable properties, even if there is a minor dip in sales?

Ugh, I’ve gone from desperately searching for a pre-order to grab, to planning on waiting a solid six months before buying.

This. As if most streamers weren’t corrupt and self-serving enough already, this is about to send that whole toxic sub-industry right over the edge.

One potential downside to this is partnered streamers now have an incentive to basically become used car salesmen since it’s now in their best interest to convince their audience that the game they’re playing is fun so that the audience will buy it and the streamer will get money.

The gaming community is ripe with hypocracy. When anyone but Nintendo or Blizzard do something, it’s bad.
