The problem is people usually compare their last cheap Windows laptops to an Apple laptop that they just bought for $2000. There is no such thing as a cheap MacBook and very few people buy high end Windows machines.

Actually, at this point, I think people are mostly buying Apple laptops for the same reason people buy Starbucks coffee or Rolex’s. They’re just luxury brands and people want to be seen with them.

My 2012 15" (non-Retina) MBP is not doing so well, despite the fact I’ve babied it, kept it free of dust, well-ventilated and usually don’t carry it around all day.
