If their target was the merger... well, frankly I disagree, I don’t think Microsoft has made a strong case and the idea of it eating a major third-party publisher and developer improving competition in the market is laughable. But I can see it going either way in court.

President Biden has always been such a Duke Nukem fanboy I bet you’re right.

Clearly the FTC saw Phil Spencer’s comment that it would be fun to make another Hexen game and were like, “We need to do everything we can to stop this.”

New trailer looked exactly like my feelings on the first game: 95% of it is everything I wanted, but the remaining 5% is *so egregiously bad* it ruins the whole thing.

Other Jedi could beat Vader in a fight.

I think generative fill tool is an argument for how involved the artists still are. I’ve used it several times to clean up small mistakes or to hide stuff, and it doesn’t always know what I want to fill it with. It’s definitely a tool, not a magic button (to your point).

So I guess Gilroy Wasn’t Here.

Waiting for the “Kid Fucked Around and Found Out” article.

Colantonio directed pretty much all of Arkane’s best games, including their two greatest pieces, Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah. I’m not aware of the inner workings of the studio, but at this point I’m willing to bet his departure sucked out a large portion of Arkane’s soul.

MS doesn’t need Activision to be at the top of the cloud gaming market.

Your comment is pure confirmation bias - “because I don’t care about handheld gaming PCs, clearly no one else does.” Yes, it is a niche market compared to traditional consoles right now, but the landscape is changing and the PC industry wants a piece of that Nintendo Switch money. Valve did a hell of a lot more market

The haptic touch pads also make a bunch of traditional PC games (strategy etc.) actually playable

This is something all of these articles about Steam Deck competitors consistently overlook. The Deck has it’s own ecosystem so they can afford to sell the units at cost. Asus can’t do that, and therefor will never be competitive.

Yup. It’s not gonna be DoA, because there will be a niche market, but there’s no way it can compete with the Steam Deck’s price point.

I also feel like currently, like with VR tech, there’s a finite market of people actually interested in owning this type of device. Plenty of people who might think it was neat as a novelty, but don’t see it fitting into a currently unfulfilled need. At least that’s how I am; if someone gave me a Steam Deck for free,

Why can I not buy Huawei products in the US? How can the US regulate the business of a Chinese company?

I can tell you how it’s gonna go. It’s gonna go to the courts where it’ll get bogged down in endless legalese, until DeSantis gets termed out and fucks off, and whoever his replacement is quietly drops the matter entirely.

This is great and it’s going to be very interesting to see how it all plays out. As I said on Twitter, this crap is happening all over the place, but we’ve finally got a complainant with the clout and deep pockets to really push back against this kind of government action. There is the potential for this to set a very

you know i saw an article or a post about this earlier this week. surprisingly, people were not that receptive. i guess they thought the cartoony style pokemon is known for didn’t mesh well with the “realistic” aspects of the graphics. I personally like this style and think more games could be made that utilize it.
