It boggles my mind that “business knowers” somehow assumed that conditions (a huge increase in deliveries and people not wanting to eat in at restaurants) that were related to a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic would continue after the pandemic was over and we could return to our normal lives.

I assume they are doing this so they can get rid of the second drink and snack service?

I ate at The Bedford in March and it was one of my worst dining experiences ever. The service was terrible, and they brought one person’s entree out literally 15 minutes before the others, the table side carved chicken was dry and the sides came out 10 minutes after they served the chicken. I seem to recall a viral thingy a while back where us North Americans discovered that our Aussie/Kiwi friends refer to sandwich/burger toppings as “salad.” As in, “I go to Subway and for salad I get lettuce, tomatoes, etc.” That makes the name slightly less weird?

I would be furious if I took my first trip to Vegas and the Bellagio Fountains were blocked, the Venetian pond drained and most of the sightlines blocked by scaffolding and stands. I’ve been several times but would actively avoid the city if I knew all of this malarkey was going on.

Maine has a chain of potato donut stores (Holy Donut, they’re fine.) That’s presumably why people there are googling them, not as a thanksgiving side.

I had my first ballpark peanuts a few weeks ago and was shocked by how delicious they were. Also, I too was uncomfortable with the littering aspect, but they gave me the bag in the same sory of tray they served the hotdogs in, so I just put the shells in there and threw them out on my way out of the park.
