Lol agreed. There are 2 Latino families in my 12 unit building in my white/Asian neighborhood. Maybe I think I find it more difficult to realize that Latinos are ‘missing’ in a given situation because it’s often very hard to differentiate a Latino from a non-Latino white person (without like actually talking to them).

I always wonder about the lack of Asians. Los Angeles, like a lot of places, has some division where different ethnicities communities live. But here we have basically the white/Asian areas, the Asian/Latino areas and then the Latino/black areas. So you might be a white person in Los Angeles who doesn’t really know

That is Angel’s Flight which I happen to be able to see out of my office window right now. But it keeps getting closed because people keep somehow dying or otherwise getting injured on it.

Effaclar. They’ve started selling it at pharmacies like Ride Aid and CVS now so I don’t have to get it from the doctor thank goodness.

Last Halloween my boyfriend and I went as Zombie Hillary and Zombie Trump and won the costume contest !

Where is this a thing? It’s definitely NOT a thing here in Los Angeles. Though sometimes companies put on Trick-or-Treating for kids, that’s really just an excuse for parents to bring the kids to the office and show off their costumes. Adults in costumes will be out this weekend I’m sure. But there is ONE night of

You’d probably supposed to be asleep so hopefully at least the anesthesiologist would respond by upping your dosage.....

My OBGYN friend practiced stitching the top of a post-hysterectomy vaginal cuff together by stitching up all the socks she could get her hands on. Using the DaVinci. No socks were safe.

I have a surgical biopsy annually. It’s billed as surgery. It takes about 15 seconds and no pain killers.

Absolutely I would.

Are you dumb or just entirely ingnorant of the way the world works? The hours needed in many jobs...like being a Secret Service agent...varies week by week. It’s not like it’s a customer service center where they need someone manning the phones from 8am-4pm. They can’t just hire someone to stand on the President’s

That is awful. At my job you have to get overtime preapproved, and they never ever approve it even though they clearly assign more than 40 hours of work each week. However, no one complains because they are generous with leave and flex schedules......currently I only work 4 days a week. It’s amazing how much goodwill

It’s impossible to have a job like this without overtime. Considering they have to travel and be with candidates at all times. I mean, you could split this up between more people, but it would probably require 3-4 times the staff. Maybe even more. At that point if you’re training those people and paying the extra

I don’t understand what you’re getting at?

You would think the family would get a payout if an agent dies in the line of duty and that may be true......but I googled it to try and figure it out.....they have a couple of forms of life insurance available, but no payout that I could find for being killed in the line of duty.

The problem is it’s just some stupid arbitrary cap. It’s because General schedule pay is limited to level 4 of the Executive Schedule. Because the underlings can’t make more than the executives.....

This is a nice story, but if you don’t show up for your Secret Service job, you do get fired. Overtime or no.....

Just because you’re salaried doesn’t mean you’re not entitled to overtime.

The pay scale for the DC area is about $65k to $140k for non-supervisory law enforcement officers. Though I’d imagine they don’t have the super newbs on these assignments so you probably don’t have anyone with a base salary of less than $100k.

$160k isn’t that much money to work around the clock. If they work like 3000 hours a year, that’s like $50 an hour. Which, although not terrible, requires a huge skill set, and possibly taking a bullet for someone, etc.
