They would lose their background check and their job for outstanding warrants.

Um....you’re fooling yourself if you think all that wasn’t already happening.

I think the most ridiculous part of that story is that someone can be in the US 100% illegally and get Food stamps.

What’s hilarious about this is that ICE is stalking court houses primarily because most California law enforcement won’t honor ICE detainers.

I wasn’t poor growing up (not rich either) but I had similar things happen being raised by a single mom. Whenever we had to construct stuff, everyone’s dads would break out the power tools and help make something awesome. My mom was like, yeah there’s probably a hammer around here somewhere...”

We haven’t had any unconstitutional executive orders? Lol. Are you kidding me? Please Google unconstitutional executive orders.

If there’s anything unprecedented about this story it’s that the AG refused to defend the president’s policy. I can’t think of another time that’s happened. Of course she was fired.

Except it’s not an unprecedented move. At all. I used the DAPA example because it was also stayed and overturned by the courts. But guess what? The AG defended it it the whole way

In what universe are you living? It is not the AG’s job to contradict the president. It’s the AG’s job to defend the president’s policies in court. There aren’t checks and balances within the Executive Branch. Yes, Trump is classless and threw a temper tantrum. But it’s would be extremely unusual for a president to

I just don’t see what’s outrageous about a president firing someone over his refusal to enforce his policy. Do you really think of Jen Johnson had said, “we’re not doing DAPA’ that he would have kept his job?” Of if Lynch had refused to defend it in court? They absolutely would have been fired.

Except no....it’s not that standard to have holdovers. The vast majority of political appointees resign before the new president takes office. Usually there are a few holdovers and they know they are short timers.

You’re hilarious. Career fed still it’s just shorthand for everyone who is a political appointee. It’s extremely unusual for political appointees to keep their jobs under a new president. Seriously, name one political who kept their job when Obama took over for Bush.

I don’t get the outrage over this at all. Every president replaces the previous admin’s political appointees. Career feds (like Daniel Ragsdale) step up as acting chief and they know they will only have that job temporarily. Then they get ‘demoted’ to ‘deputy’ except nobody considers it a demotion.  Pretty much every

Out of all the stuff Trump is doing, this is the least alarming. every single president replaces the previous administration’s political appointees. THATS HOW THIS WORKS.

I think this was first reported Wednesday on the radio......the news about the GHB hadn’t come out. It was reported she was acting totally crazy and then fine when the police arrived and voluntarily went to the hospital. The implication was that she was absolutely on drugs and they had worn off. Which is slightly

Not by much.

I think this is the best counterpoint.

Try finding a job in one of those CA mountains towns.....

Santa Barbara.

I’m kinda surprised there is no mention of abortion. Sure it’s nothing new, but I find it interesting everything I hear about limitations on ‘abortion clinics’ or just not being available. Of course we have them in a California, but they normally cater to low income individuals who don’t have regular doctors.
