“Here is a video tape I’ve had for a very long time of R Kelly having sex with the youth. I don’t know how I got it! I’ve had it for years and I just COINCIDENTALLY happened upon it at this perfect time!”

This is the weirdest story I have heard all day. If I’m reading this right, some guy was cleaning up HIS OWN old VHS tapes and found child porn, with someone who looks like R. Kelly.... But has no idea who it is or where it came from? And it’s made it to Gloria Allred before law enforcement has, like, investigated it?…
While it is gratifying that justice seems to be getting served in Kelly’s case, it is also yet another reminder that the Orange Pig in the White House has suffered zero consequences for all of the sexual abuse he has committed.
I may be giving her too much credit, but “irregardless” is famously used by Gretchen Wieners in “Mean Girls” and Mariah is obsessed with that movie (as documented in the song and video of “Obsessed”), so I think she intentionally used it as a wink to the movie.
I’m with you on this one. These bits were pretty telling:
It’s hard to imagine Julianne Moore ever being wrong for a part. It’s equally difficult to picture anyone playing Lee Israel better than Melissa McCarthy did. Talk about a tour-de-force.
I actually really love that she’s talking about this. I had a shitty review at work this week, and feel like a total failure at life. To think that someone as respected and established as Juianne Moore could be fired kinda makes me think “you know what, no one is immune from this shit.” I know the shame she’s probably…
Agreed. Unsurprising, though, that a black radical man would align himself with this brand of (white supremacist) patriarchy that serves to silence black women from exposing the harms that men’s power have inflicted on us and those around us. We’re permitted to speak on assaults on our bodies but when it comes to…
Reading this made me feel mad creepy. Reading that Amanda S. could be sharing invalid information also makes me feel creepy. I guess I wish you had spent less time comparing her to a poisonous toad and more time discussing the nuances of the issues on the ground. I’m a big fan by I’m feeling like your heteronormative…
Seales went on to accuse Rolle of opening his hotel room door, unclothed, for a date with an unnamed woman. As a man, I am not in the position to judge whether Rolle’s action might be a forward-but-stupid choice or an example of sexual harassment
There it is. Hope she is overstating some shit she heard but... we have had whispers of shit said about awesome people who turned out to be trash before and many ignored them for the good done. Him being a Rhodes scholar and about to be a doctor doesn’t mean shit - erroneous information screwing up a life is horrible…
So I read the article and watched the video. I think Seale’s method and her language was immature; but well intended. The next step would be for the 9 women to come forward and give their testimony to file actual charges.
I’m not convinced she did anything wrong. Rape culture is so prevalent it’s probably true. No one wants to be the first to say what he did to her, that’s very understandable. What’s wonderful about our society is if he’s innocent he can sue for libel(slander?) without fearing exposing his wrongdoings :) let’s see what…
Toads are not “frog-like reptiles.” They are amphibians, which are definitely not reptiles. They aren’t frog-like, they are literally a classification of frogs.
“However, I will not sit idly by and allow someone to engage in intentional character assassination simply because I did not return their advances or wish to engage in a relationship as they may have wanted.”
“What Seales did could possibly diminish how some people respond to victims of sexual assault, it could result in fewer people who believe women and ultimately, it could even kill people.”
The thing is that the movie is rooted in anti-Semitic, religious doctrine that claiming that Jews “killed Jesus”.
The Passion is basically anti-Semitic, Jesus torture porn.
While I’m sure it’s probably very difficult for Paris to hear about what her father did, is she really a working actress to say this will hurt her career?
I love this show but I can’t help but feel that the episodes are too short. The house makeovers are nice, but they’re so quick! I’d like to learn more about the things the Fab 5 are actually doing for people, I’d like to see more of the process. Maybe that feels like filler but I feel like these episodes fly by.
