agree with you and SheeshTheseNames. as a former new yorker, my favorite was when famous people came in to my work and had to talk to me about things. that way we have a nice, minimally-awkward interaction and they get to proceed through their magical unicorn lives as they otherwise would. everyone wins!

i think you’re missing a really important point in all this, which is that a VERY large number of people are incarcerated either 1) wrongfully or 2) for “crimes” that would be completely legal in several states if the person were white.
