Honestly, as someone who likes a lot of greenery for Christmas, I don’t hate it? Just kinda seems really bland and uninspired, but not terrible. I kinda expect her to take Barron to NYC during Christmas and not come back. Kinda figure the divorce papers will appear sometime around February/March.

The top photo with the wagon bearing the tree - what with the drivers wearing black masks - reminded me of a ‘mourning wagon (hearse with horses)‘. Which is quite fitting actually. Those trees are afraid of what happens to them next. And there’s Cruella de Ville as the chief mourner.

That’s exactly what my friends are doing. They were going to get married this year in France but they canceled that and went down to the courthouse since one partner’s health insurance was way better than the other’s. Given the sad state of our health insurance system, they wanted to make sure they could get the best…

It’s understandable to be disappointed and angry at having to cancel a big, expensive event, but honestly, it’s not February. COVID has been in the headlines for effin’ months, and there is nothing short of actual life and death situations that has to be done right now.

I live in an area that had little to no active cases, then someone decided to start having parties and weddings (with out of state folks who didn’t quarantine upon arrival). Now we are almost back to shutting shit down.

I don’t understand the “need” (and I use that term sooooo loosely) to get married this year. If it’s for legal or financial reasons, see the JP and have the party next year. 

I both agree and disagree with Brandy here. I think she’s absolutely right that the LW is projecting a LOT of anger over what should be a pleasant gesture; it’s not that hard to keep a list of stuff you and your husband would like, whether it’s a fancy book, nice wine, or whatever. Or just ask for stuff like sheets…
