I’d like to point out that you don’t need to have a previous assault to be traumatized by a medically unnecessary pelvic exam. I’ve had a medically necessary ultrasound, and it was awful. Afterward, all I wanted to do was go to bed, pull the covers over my head and stay there for a week.

I think the Missouri GOP knows this. They are intentionally setting the healthcare providers up to commit sexual assault and then once sued the state will happily pull their license to practice.

You need to know the fetus’s gestational age to determine what method to use and provide the woman with the correct information about the procedure. This can be done with a quick ultrasound on the abdomen. Pants can stay on, they just need to be unbuttoned or pushed down a bit.

Good for them. Medical providers HAVE to push back on this- politicians should not be prescribing medical treatment through legislation. They went to law school, not medical school and need to stay in their fucking lane.

This. And FFS when they found out the family seemed genuinely upset and donated 10m+ to causes directly helping those that their families (not them) hurt. If anything this makes me want more Krispy Kreme.

Audi. Bayer. Siemens. Thyssenkrupp. BMW. Deutsche Bank. You’d be hard pressed to find a German company founded before WW2 that DIDN’T have some relationship/ties to the Nazis.

I’d like to issue a counterpoint, as someone who was basically raised in a bodybuilding gym (my dad was a bodybuilder back in the day, and our garage was converted into a gym and was a local hangout for bodybuilding for those who didn’t feel welcome in a traditional gym in the 80s.) compression tights were not a

We don’t, though. I mean, there’s literally a known rapist on the Supreme Court.

I think that is what gets me. Rape scenes, I believe, are often not as brutal as they should be. We shouldn’t be tamping them down because that just helps contribute to the idea that rape isn’t really a big deal - something society seems to believe as we see again and again. And if a woman with minimal power was being

I hope they’re serious. Corporate boycotts were pretty effective in Indiana against that horribly homophobic “religious freedom” law a couple years back (the law still exists, but it was amended to add LGBT protections), and even got a few other states to back off implementing their own version of the law.

And I wonder if doctors will be refusing residencies and moving out of state, considering they could potentially lose their license for removing a non viable fetus during a miscarriage.

I know boycotts hurt local workers more than anyone else, and end up doing a lot of harm before getting results, but maybe having huge companies like Disney and Netflix making these threats will get painless results? At least, more than having a million small boycotts that the state doesn’t notice until people are

Well, its people in Georgia that elected the people who passed the laws (I know that obviously there is a strong minority that did not elect them).  That is the point of the boycott.  Make the people who dictate who gets to pass the laws feel the impact of their collective decisions.

Good. I know some people in Georgia aren’t a huge fan of this boycott, but I also think it is irresponsible for a company to ask a large part of it’s workforce to work in a place where their medical issues won’t be taken seriously. The last thing an employee of Disney wants is to be worried that if she miscarries she

Sushi doesn’t go with crackers.

I see Jamil’s replies are filled almost exclusively with the usual WASP Evangelical GOP Pro-Restriction crowd with the usual hand-wringing claims that “The Child” could’ve gone to the home of a sweet adoptive couple like those who can’t have children.

^This. I’d rather sit near someone munching on carrot sticks than the guy with his hand up his shorts, fondling himself as he stares blankly into space during fucking rush hour.

Eating is one of the lease offensive things I’ve endured from my fellow passengers on public transit.

Ooooooh!!! She did something wrong!!! She was EATING on the TRAIN!!! Better tweet at her boss and make sure she gets fired, because I’m sure a public transit employee is just swimming in disposable income. People who sic the authorities on black women like it’s fucking customer service are gross and violent.

Good. When someone tells you to mind your business it’s best to heed that advice. Way to take a low stakes situation and blow up your own life lady.
