Of course it’s going to be used disproportionately against minorities. I wouldnt be surprised if this was in large part to try to make sure the Native American population there doesn’t get any ideas like Standing Rock.

It’s really telling that these laws never came around when it was republicans having their protest movement. Between this a McConnells “losers go home” comment, it’s become perfectly clear that the GOP is only interested in serving their supporters- not their constituents.
There was a ton of outcry at first because multiple credentialed journalists were arrested and charged with rioting. Then once the journalists had charges dropped, most people stopped paying attention.
It makes me think of the Louisiana rep who proposed special vouchers for students who want a religious education. She lost it when she found out that non-Christians would also get to use the vouchers the same way.
That’s actually what happened with the inauguration day protests in DC (the prosecutions, by the way, are still ongoing). They kettled ~230 people, among which were maybe 4-5 people who had been smashing shit, and arrested all 230 and charged them all with felony participation in a riot.
It’s a long-lost outtake from The Smiths’ Meat Is Murder sessions.
Oh, but also: my idiotic brother and his moronic fiancee have stopped watching SNL because it’s become TOO POLITICAL. “It’s always made fun of politics,” I said. “Not like this!” my brother harps. I grant him that SNL hasn’t been this funny in a while, but I guess he’s forgetting Dana Carvey’s Bush I impression.
Them angels I believe in told me I ain’t poor. I’m a millionaire with a low bank balance.
The video of Mitch McConnell getting yelled at was one of the top ten best things to happen in spite of Trump’s first month in office.
My favorite thing about conservatives who get upset about celebrities “getting political” is how they trot their own token conservative celebrities out the first chance they get:
To be fair, Louie Gohmert is an awful human being whose continued existence is proof that God does not exist because if he did, Congressman Gohmert would have been smote a long time ago.
Chicken shit.
It’s really inspiring to see all of these people participating in the town halls. I loved it when one of the audience members asked Cotton, “What kind of insurance do you have?”
“A) To piss on it three times a day,”
I mean, Cheeto did say that the phone system in the White House is confusing, clearly he’s trying to get back to basics here.
That’s . . . actually a really brilliant plot.
my GF asked me for a copy of The Handmaid’s Tale for Valentine’s Day.
reddit’s r/conspiracy was claiming three days ago that the dam will fail and it will have been a false flag operation Of course, a false flag for what, well, no one seemed to have figured that out. Just for more government, I guess.
I know you’re joking, but thank the Bush administration and cost-cutting California local government, unfortunately. Apparently a decade ago, environmental groups filed a federal complaint with the FERC with the goal of getting the California Department of Water Resources to clad the emergency spillway with concrete…
I have a very good video from a well-versed videographer that shows faking the film would actually have been more difficult than actually landing on the moon back in the 60s.
