I hated the ending of the movie (and some of its aesthetic choices), so I'm going to watch the show in the hope they improve on that.

I just watched it, agree with the review, but would give it a B.
I thought this episode was just OK, and I also hated the direction, especially of that scene early on, but it was *much* better than the last two! I still think the whole Section 31 thing is a huge mistake, but fortunately it was only a side note here. I’d give it a B.
Most disappointing episode the show has done so far. I was actually bored for most of its running time because there were no stakes and the melodrama felt so forced. If that Section 31 stuff takes too much room I may be out. I really liked the first few episodes of the season, but the last two didn't work for me at…
I didn’t understand why the sister and the wife complain but ultimately stick around. I suppose it’s the do-nothing-in-the-face-of-evil doctrine they talk about, but then the film is proof it isn’t working.
They should have stuck with 10 episodes per season.
Seems like a perfect opportunity to get rid of Kip Pardue, unless something happens with Frank Dean in the season finale.
Maybe I wasn’t paying attention, but how did Leslie figure out that was her mother? I also think Annie Wersching was pregnant all along, and they had reached the point where they weren’t able to hide it anymore.
I thought the NPC line was funny, but I’m not familiar with that being a meme.
Best episode of the season so far. I loved the mural for Molly!
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is great, but I like Cloak & Dagger even better.
I made the same connection to Lady Bird! Both characters are insufferable twits. I’m not sure I will ever get over wanting to punch Timothée Chalamets face 😄
I haven’t read the books, but I wasn’t surprised by Donato’s assault. It’s baffling that he seemingly is able to convince himself that she “likes him” in the face of the evidence of her tears, but I guess we see what we want to see. I dread what Marcello might do to Lila ...
I keep waiting for you to give insider’s commentary on the shoe business, but I guess you’re many many generations removed from anyone in that trade ;-)
The final scene doesn’t take place in Israel, but in Germany. The address is Alte Straße 537, and the girl says “Danke” to Charlie.
I didn’t get that Lila had ulterior motives with the trip to the sea at first. In hindsight it became clear, but my mind doesn’t want to go to such Machiavellian places, I guess.
I haven’t read the books yet, but I also loved the first episode. I’m so glad it’s subtitled! I speak some Italian, but the Neapolitan, while fascinating, absolutely baffles me.
Is that true? I guess I didn’t pay enough attention 😄 That would certainly change things.
The retirement community reminded me of The Good Place, but I did not recognize it!
... and I’ve watched them all. I’m a sucker for this kind of thing.
