Oh that’s absolutely the reason. That, and this is a MASSIVE generalization, but I believe it to be true: Some brands get a massive reputation for reliability when its honestly just the fact that the typical buyers of said brand tend to care for their cars better.

On road, yes, absolutely. However, both this one, and the one from a few weeks ago were not on the road. Off road, or with DEEP snow, you NEED flotation for forward motion.

Right, the whole “these last forever” thing kinda loses it’s luster to me when they’re opened up for a new timing belt and intake gaskets and fresh everything every 75,000 miles. You do all the maintenance to MOST engines that these REQUIRE, you’ll have a 300,000 mile engine.
