I watched the Treehouse of Horror episode the other day where Smithers has the line ‘I think women and seamen shouldn’t mix.’ and I thought to myself that if some Disney exec had known about that specific joke, The Simpsons wouldn’t have been on Disney+.

I love all three of them. Raiders is my favorite movie of all time. Temple of Doom is just what you said: pulp adventure of the kind that inspired the character in the first place. And Last Crusade, even though it’s mostly just a too-lighthearted retread of Raiders, benefited tremendously from the single greatest…

Any small chance I had of being interested in this movie has just ended.  There is a terrific IJ trilogy (yes, even Temple of Doom), and I’m fine with that being it for the character.  Last Crusade ended with him literally riding into the sunset, for God’s sake.

Tom’s big, dangerous, unprecedented stunt in this one will be simply licking a handrail on a subway platform. 

Yeah, the new stuff in Jabba’s palace and Mos Eisley is bad, but to me it’s just decorations. New creatures and ships there for no reason. The changes to Empire are messing with the plot, with the movement and momentum of the storytelling.  That’s what makes it the worst to me.
