That 75 / 78 mpg US number is a little ambiguous. It's an electric assisted number, therefore mpg is not the only measure of "energy" consumption; the car is using a combination of electric and combustion energy to achieve it, therefore MPGe plus a standard "gas" city/hwy/combined measurement is in order.
