Just think of all the Model S owners that bought their P1ooD because it was the fastest, coolest, most expensive EV you could buy (we will ignore the boutique brands like Fisker). Many of those people had no concern for the cost, in fact they would have paid much more for the “privilege”. These folks will not think…

I do agree, these are mostly not the same buyers, although I do suspect the venn diagram overlaps somewhat.

2, Yawn... my boredom is increasing even more now. I never said the Tesla was boring. I said the EV 0-60 competition is boring because they all do it in sub 3 seconds now. Do I really care if one is 3.0 and one is 2.8. No, I don’t. The difference is not important, boring.

2.. I’m just taking a wild-ass guess that Porsche will make a car that is more engaging to drive car than Tesla (not that the Tesla is bad)... I mean, they are pushing this point heavily in the marketing as well. I believe them.

I think we need to wait and see how the non-Turbo models stack up. And I’m laughing when I type non-Turbo.

You’re not wrong to wonder about that... but I will say the Lt1/2, in terms of reliability and long term cost of service will outperform most, if not all, cars in the same performance window. We will see about the DCT... a little nervous about that one.

Drive-throughs are dying a natural death, albeit too slowly for some do-gooder’s tastes. I don’t have a problem with people naturally choosing to eat wherever they like, I do not like cities banning things that are not objectively, undeniably horrible.
