All of this is fair. As I’ve said in a few responses, to elaborate on the why comes from not having an understanding of how great that kid is. The time and money seems better spent on getting to know the people in the program. Because, as this kid has proven, he is a hot commodity. I think a little time reaching out…

As matter of comparasion , since you put yourself out there, how many schools did you get into? Did you have a first choice? Did you just apply, or was there a conversation with the department you were looking to get into first?
