Heh. Now I’m playing victim. I really got on her(?) bad side today.

Late 90’s. That’s the perspective I was missing, before the onslaught. I wasn’t a scholar, and my grades sucked. I’m actually very, very lucky and fortunate I got into Howard. My major choice, and my portfolio concerning it, propelled me to the top. I wouldn’t have gotten into, say their business school with what I

Apparently. I’m eating a lot of crow this afternoon. I wasn’t expecting the concern troll response from you either. Sigh. How’s your Friday?

I can’t reply to the take your meds post, so I’ll do it here. Wow, I certainly got dragged for asking this, and daring to respond. Again, I wasn’t expecting this, but it looks like I deserve it.

Clearly that was perception, and hoo boy did I get dragged for it. I genuinely had a different prepesctive on high school scholars and I got told something different, in a very forceful way. Now, I’m a concern troll AND wypipo. Not how I wanted to goof off on the internet on a Friday.

Did, did you response spam me? Can you reply to your first comment, and we go from there?

“”I was just curious” is a phrase nosy wypipo use when they want to know something that isn’t necessarily any of their business. I’m sure if you created a poll you’d find that most American POC (and probably most of the Europeans too) have had to deal with it at one point or another. I believe the technical diagnostic

All of this is fair. As I’ve said in a few responses, to elaborate on the why comes from not having an understanding of how great that kid is. The time and money seems better spent on getting to know the people in the program. Because, as this kid has proven, he is a hot commodity. I think a little time reaching out

As matter of comparasion , since you put yourself out there, how many schools did you get into? Did you have a first choice? Did you just apply, or was there a conversation with the department you were looking to get into first?

Not with him, as you can see with the other responses I made, but I’m glad you were able to get a dig in.

Look at you, adding value to the conversation.

Honestly, it had nothing to do with diminishing his accomplishments. It was more about why this kid didn’t have recruiters approaching him as talented as he is instead of having to apply to 20 schools.

The fuck is this? I’m more interested (and disgusted, really) in the fact that he wasn’t on all of these programs’ radar in the first place.

You can look for my response elsewhere, and miss me with the angst. I’m proud of the kids achievements, just like you.

I wrote this somewhere else, but someone this talented is getting recruited academically like any athlete. I’ve been around talented students that had Ivys knocking on their door as soon as freshman year. So, it seemed strange to me that at the very least some of these schools were not begging him to get into their

Of course, he doesn’t need to validate it for me It was more for curiosity’s sake. This kid seems extremely talented. Talented enough that getting into Ivy would have been a foregone conclusion. I was never in this world, never a great student, but I know from the people around me who were, the question wasn’t really

While I would never call this obnoxious (seriously, fuck those ladies) Why apply to 20 schools? This kid obviously had the chops to get into many places. Maybe Stanford wouldn’t have called, but did he or his parents think, after all of these achievements, that the net needed to be cast that wide?

Me too. Maybe they shut them down?

If it makes for feel any better, this dude racks up the stars here so that he can actually be racist on the Root. Classic Troll. It’s quite spectacular to behold.

I feel like I’ve heard this already at every truck stop or suburban supermarket I’ve ever been to.
